An early post draft, pre-training camp depth chart has been released by the Cowboys organization. For the sake of time, I’m only going to post the offense for starters. That’s where the changes are mostly. Some of it is obvious; some of it is perplexing. Frankly, I would not be surprised if several positions see changes in the chart by September.
I got this from a paid site so I can’t link it, but here is the chart for the offense:
OFFENSE- 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team
QB- Dak Prescott. Cooper Rush, Will Grier
RB- Zeke Elliott. Tony Pollard, Ryan Nall
WR- Cedee Lamb, Noah Brown,
WR- Michael Gallup, TJ Vasher
WR- Jalen Tolbert, James Washington, Simi Fehoko
TE- Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson, Jeremy Sprinkles
LT- Tyron Smith, Josh Ball
LG-Tyler Smith, Connor McGovern
C- Tyler Biadsz
RG- Zack Martin, Matt Farniok
RT- Terrance Steele, Issac Alacron
K- Chris Naggar
COMMENTS:
- I think some of this is a joke. Listing TJ Vasher as a backup? I saw the kid play his whole college career at Texas Tech and IMO, he’s not an NFL level receiver. We will see.
- That WR group looks a little thin, especially when you realize Gallup may not be here until mid-October. I just don’t get the Noah Brown love this team has.
- The team must not think much of Simi Fehoko.
- Anyone confident in Josh Ball or Issac Alacron as backups?
- It does not include any UFAs such as new K Jonathan Garribay
- Who is Ryan Nall?
- If we end up starting two rookies (Tyler Smith and Jake Tolbert) we will certainly go into the season with a less prepared and less experienced offense than last season.
- This offense lost 17 years of starting NFL experience from last year.
Again, I think this chart is premature and I’m seriously doubtful it will stay this way come September.
Thoughts?
