• I think point 1 is splitting hairs, we're talking about the 6th WR and I don't think we have 6 receivers on the roster good enough to keep.
• 100% agree with point 2, Brown does have use on special teams though.
• Fehoko doesn't have it, to be honest, I don't even know why we have him on the 90 man roster
• I would say that I am intrigued by Ball and Alarcon. Hard to be confident about something you haven't seen but there have been positive reports from those with access behind closed-door.
• There you go, that's why Vasher is 6th WR
• Nall is the guy we signed from the Bears, that was the one that stood out to me though because I'm pretty high on Dowdle
• Agree with this, I will say that Dak being healthy trumps that and the next point though. We were good when Dak was healthy, we fell apart when he wasn't.
• The other one I'm intrigued about is OC, is Farniok not challenging to start there.....Will Lindstrom be the only competition? I would have thought both Farniok and McGovern would be wanting to put their hat in the ring for OC.

My early concern is really more about OL. I’m not sad we lost Connor Williams, but we are certainly rolling the dice that as a rookie Tyler Smith is able to upgrade what we got at LG last year. Maybe he can but it is an assumption until he proves it.

Losing La’el Collins was somewhat understandable with his undependability but he certainly had talent. I like Terrance Steele but can we confidently say we are as good as we used to be at RT?

Between Amari Cooper, C. Williams and L. Collins, we lost 17 years of NFL experience. Terrance Steele has two years experience, and we have two rookies expected to step into the other places. Seems like the team should have considered a stop gap LG in FA…maybe they will.

Are we to assume our offense will be better as a result of this off-season? Maybe it will. But it’s a gamble.

I am not reading any of the other posts in this thread until after I comment. First off, Sturn has no inside connection regarding the roster. This is just the speculation of someone that follows the Cowboys. Not any different than any of the rest of us guessing.

Until Gallup shows he is healthy, I can't imagine him being in the starting lineup Day 1, so that means Lamb, Washington and probably Tolbert. They like Brown as a 3rd down and short yardage big target. And Fehoko would seem to be the number 5. Vasher showed nothing last year. I would not be surprised to see them bring in a vet. Not sure why you don't think they like Fehoko. The four ahead of him all deserve to be ahead of him. Unless you are saying that because he is listed at 3rd string...but I think that would just be as the slot guy. We have a relatively high round draft pick and a vet...they should be ahead of him on paper.

Him putting Alarcon at RT seems way off...since he has played almost exclusively at the guard position. They don't have the UDFAs listed as you mention but I do think after the starting 5 the depth chart is McGovern, Farniok, Ball and Alarcon. I would think draft pick Waketzko and UDFA Lindstrom have a chance to knock someone off the list. I would much rather try developing some of our own linemen instead of bringing in washed up vets. How many times have the washed up vets on the OL actually made any difference?

I would definitely guess that Naggar wont be the kicker....Garribay is gonna take that job.

Ryan Nall is the guy we got from Chicago. Doubt he makes the roster although they must see some utility role for him.

We lost experience for sure, but that experience wasn't making a difference. Steele outplayed Collins no matter what some of the naysayers think. Cooper is a great route runner but he never has shown he can be a consistent week in and week out game changer. He just hasn't. And for $20m, you have to be a game changer.

Pretty sure Washington is a starter until Gallup return. What's a bit disappointing is little or no competition at a couple of spots. It shouldn't be that hard to find free agents to push Biadsz, Steele and even a low-cost WR.

Also, just me, but I'm replacing McGovern with a free agent vet that offers a little more flex. As a player who can only play RG, he has little or no value or at the very least, limited. Why are we holding on to him.....

Tolbert and Washington will ultimately compete to become the team's #3 receiver. Everything we hear to Farniok to going to push Biad to become the starter. The loser, is the gameday active Center. I believe they think Ball can legitimately compete with Steele to start at RT, loser is a candidate for Swing Tackle.

The oline depth is a joke at T if they're not planning on using Tyler as backup LT.

Two guys with 0 NFL snaps. 4th round pick and a guy who played in Mexico. And this with Tyron having missed at least 3 games per season since 2016. Even on the interior, we need another warm body.

Hope they have Tyler Smith cross train at LT/LG. He's fresh from playing LT. Let's keep up the skills. Unlike what they did with Connor Williams. Just so dumb.

Weird that no one is behind Biadasz. I'd say it's Farniok right now. They seem to hate McGovern.

Weird that McGovern isn't behind Martin at RG. He is generally considered to have played RG better than LG.

As for Brown, he's a core STer, a functional 4th wr, and has carved out a role as a blocking WR. Brown is a clear value proposition. I don't know why people hate him so.

Their depth chart has McGovern at LG.

McGovern has had starts at RG, LG, and carved out a role as a Jumbo FB/TE, a role in which he excelled.

He's got more demonstrated value than the rest of our oline depth combined.

Dak by himself is an issue as we know he has obvious limitations and lack of accuracy and issues reading defenses.
I think they need to look at options asap .
