Play tough as long as possible, crack at the last moment, deadlines are the best times to make deals with this team per Jerry. Not sure why you don't understand
So GM Jethro cracks at the last moment and over pays. Some how he thinks that's the best deals?

CeeDee is an outstanding player, but if there is one player I think they can do without in the long run, it is CeeDee. Or at least this was the case going into the season. Of course the Cowboys have waited which puts them in a more difficult position now.

If they had tried to sign CeeDee before the draft, and he asked for more money than they are willing to pay, they could have traded him and gotten a decent draft pick in return. Then they could have used that pick to draft a replacement. It is too late for that now. So at this point, they either pay him what he wants, or franchise tag him next year, but eventually they will lose him and get nothing in return.

But the question is, is it better to have one really expensive WR or use the money to get 3 good WRs and potentially a more balanced passing attack? The Cowboys seem to think having 1 top receiver is the way to go. Hence, the trade of Amari Cooper. But now that CeeDee is going to cost them in the area of $35 million, will they feel the same way?

They should have attempted to sign CD before the draft. If he his expectations were unrealistic then they could have traded him. Could have got 2 number 1's - 1 this year and 1 next year.

They could have drafted a WR this year to replace CD. Then would have had 2 number 1's next year to move up the draft and got a QB.

So we would not of had to pay Dak $60M or CD $30M+.
