Bobby Belt: Trey Lance doesn't look like an NFL player to me

You believe GM Jethro traded a 4th for a back up QB, when we already had a legit back up QB?
You believe the 49ers gave up all that draft capital for a backup QB? You think Jerry traded a 4th for a QB just for the hell of it and not because his scouts rated him as a high second round pick the year he entered the draft?

You’re the one who said he’s not a starting QB as if he could never be one. You keep repeating it to entrance people with it.

It does not matter what I believe. I would not have drafted him the 7th round. It matters what Jerry believed all by himself, since he did not ask anyone's opinion.

It didn't feel as though Belt and Broadus completely agreed on the subject of Trey Lance. Broadus seems to be holding out hope that Lance is a "gamer".

I wouldn't call Beebe a bust at this point. Some players take longer to develop, and I believe he had very limited experience at center. In college, wasn't he mostly a guard? It could be that this is where he will land.

I don’t see how Berne can be a fat bust, he was the #1 or #2 OG in the draft. His tape looked good too. If he’s a bust at C that’s one thing he didn’t play that position. If he busts at OG I’d be surprised. If he’s fat, they can fix that with a year of working out plus he has a year to grow behind Martin.

A "gamer" meaning he just sucks at practice.

Good luck with that.

Do you even read what someone writes? Jerry didn’t ask anyone’s opinion to make the trade. He’s the owner and GM so that is his prerogative. But it’s not like he picked up some hobo off the street without reason or no kind of backing already existing, two of which I already listed.

So did Dak. In fact, it was well known that he sucked in practice in his rookie year, and Tony when healthy was easily outplaying him. But he was a “gamer” they said. Funny how the same things you’re criticizing about “Trance” are what was said about Dak.

You mean like Dak in '16?
Nobody was claiming Dak was anything back in 2016, the only reason he got the starting job is because Romo got his back snapped in-half during a preseason game against Seattle.

The backup was kellen Moore, but he broke his leg in training camp.

So, the 3rd team QB by the name of Dak Prescott got the starting job by default because everybody else was hurt.

This just proves what everybody already is saying, "Lance is just a running QB"

Post a vid of him throwing a 30 yd out route on a frozen rope from the opposite hash mark.................this is the standard most scouts use to judge if a QB has "an elite NFL arm".

I have seen Dak make this throw, can Lance???

Still a good play. But I need to see his arm strength.

I get what you're saying but there is no such thing as a 30 yard out route. The total distance on the throw might be 30 but the longest out route you will see might be 12-15 yards. Typically it's under 10 yards. But I understand your point. I do believe Lance has the arm strength to make that throw but lack of confidence in what he is seeing stops him from "rippin it" like he needs to. So the ball floats on those throws almost every time. At least in the vids being posted.

I disagree. He was a complete waste of a 4th round pick and cap space.
