Bobby Carpenter Has Hit All-Time Low

I don't think video was that bad and I don't think Carpenter was that bad in it either. Too bad Carpenter hasn't been able to contribute much to the team as he hoped. Romo had Carpenter on his Inside the Huddle show late last season and Carpenter came across as a good guy & good friend of Romo's who really wanted do more to help the Cowboys; it obviously Carpenter was a down about his lack of success so far.
What makes things worse imo, is that last offseason Joe Jurasek made comments where he wasn't happy with Carpenter. That Carpenter wasn't on board with what he wanted workout wise.

That vid reminded me of that Charlie Waters poster that got him so much grief back in the day.

Sorry, couldn't find it anywhere on the net.

Now if only BC can have the career Waters had...

Right. That's what I said when Tony Romo rode the pine for 3 freakin' seasons. BUST.

PS Save the "apples and oranges" speech. If he's NFG, then why do the Cowboys keep him around? There is such a thing as cutting your losses.

He shouldn't, because that's not his newly-wedded wife.
A real cowboy keeps more than one horse in the stable.

Bust doesn't mean he has nothing to offer.
It means he was a first round pick but offers the equivalent of a player drafted later who also costs less.

Yeah, I'm glad the man has found a career.

Give the guy a break; I mean the bench can only get SO warm after all... he may need to do other things to keep his interest.

like take his shirt off

lmao

I still think Carp is going to surprise a lot of people next year. Everyone talks about how he shies from contact but he sure wasn't doing it covering kicks on ST. He played well his rookie year and I just do not believe that player disappeared.

Everyone counted guys like Ken Norton and Bradie James busts but they came on as well.

We'll see but I still have never understood how people can want a Cowboys player to fail just so they can look to be right.

ok guys, lets admit it, carpenter is a bust, trash him and move on

seriously, for a FIRST ROUND draft pick he has been horrible

Who is this Bobby Carpenter and what does he have to do with the Cowboys?

What we can hope is that he figures it out this year and can be ready to replace Zach Thomas after the old man's year in Dallas. ... Maybe a student of the game like Thomas can facilitate the process.

I thought that when Bobby got on the horse he was gonna herd Karli back to the corral.
Maybe she could try out for LB. She's has a Dat Nguyen physique.

Carpenter saw the field in two different roles last year, special teams and the cowboy package. The Cowboy package where only the NT actually started off in a 3 point stance was wildly successful and Carp called it at the LOS. He also saw time on ST and was arguably the best player out there.

The year before that, he beat out Singleton after Ellis went down and really started to come on during the Atlanta game where he stoned Vick acting as the spy. He played well consistently leading up to the Seattle game and he was our best player on defense that game.

In fact the only time we've actually seen him not play well since that Atlanta game has been in that preseason game where he had a hurt quad. Before and after that game he has played well.

Really the only thing people can point to as him failing is him not being in the regular rotation this past year. They cannot point to any particular role that he was actually given as being a failure and they certainly cannot point to 2006 but everyone gleefully writes him off.

I really do not get it.

To me its simple. Is he the player that we saw at the end of 2006 or is he the player we saw at the beginning of 2007?
