Bobby Carpenter Progress thread:

I guess if you say Ware running late before the snap to lineup on RE standing up is 3-3-5 or 4-2? The point is being made that failing to match up with base personel was not the best choice, since we were not slowing their running game. Especially when some stated they we in a 3WR set not base offense.

I agree on that play especially when the run blitzer failed to get inside. I think we got fooled into thinking it would be a pass and they ran it down our throats.

According to Espn's box score Carp had 3 Solo tackles. I don't remember him giving up any pass plays on 3rd down.

Discuss.

He made ONE tackle...got credit for two (when he wasn't even on the replay by the goaline), and was pulled from the special teams (kickoff receiving) after the first kick...

Other than that he stood next to Wade alot...and everytime there was a TV timeout would run 10 yards on to the field and stretch...GOOD PROGRESS though.

He played a good game, but I still think he plays for Sparano next year.

he also came free on a blitz close to the end zone and put good pressure on Leftwhich.

Honestly, I thought Carpenter was our 2nd best LBer today, right behind Brooking. Spencer and Ware were underwhelming and Bradie James blew so many plays that I lost count.

Actually Bobby put a real nice helmet to helmet lick on the RB who attempted to go over the top, but scored anyway when his body fell over the goal line. At least he's trying and looked more comfortable today than he has in a long time out there.

I believe Bobby Carpenter going to prove a whole lot of people that states he's a "Bust" wrong.

Who was it Cadillac fathered up early in the game. One of the safetys was just abused by Caddy.

I had to look away.

That's not a nickel.

That's a 3-3-5, with a run blitz.

3-3-5 is a nickel. Anytime you have 5 DBs on the field it is a nickel.

Carpenter earned his keep and showed his roster spot was earned for the first time in a while.

He's a difficult guy not to like because he isn't a braggart or a nuisance, he's ploite, down to earth and professional but his first round draft pick status leaves much to be desired in his performances.

Hopefully today was an indication that he has asserted himself as a reliable role player that can spell a starter if needed.

The instant Jason Williams is healthy and knows the D better, Bobby better watch out.

I will give Teh Carp credit for a nice open field special teams tackle, though. I thought that was a good play.
