I don't have anything that great to read about but it's great hearing things first hand from someone who saw it daily.
I was at Ohio State and my friend really had high praises for Bobby Carpenter and especially his workout ethic. Him and Hawk have continued this spring showing up regularly at 5:45 am and then again in the afternoon. Real workout warriors types that really put all they got into each workout and take it seriously. I was on a college football team and believe me those types are rare. You get real worn out on that strengent of workouts both physically and mentally after several months of it. So getting after it and staying after it consistently is something else. It doen't guarantee success on the field but it certainly can be all the difference between a so so player and a solid starter plus durability in a season.
He said of course that he thought Hawk was a better playmaker but he said Carpenter wasn't far behind. Carpenter is real solid and dependable to make the plays he is supposed to make. Smart player that's always where he is supposed to be and makes the play. Also, a real team guy. You gotta have these types to let the stars be successful IMO.
Last tidbit was about Chris Gamble for Carolina Panthers. Ohio State does plyometrics. You stand flat footed and jump up on a box. The more and higher the box the better for that quick burst of explosive speed especially to get off the line. The 46 inch box comes up to my upper stomach. Most people even athletes couldn't jump up high enough to do it. He held a weighted vest and jumped over it. Wow. Maybe X-Men is actually on to something.
