Never forget that the Jones were too chicken to tell Jason Garrett he was fired.

After the season, Garrett was still showing up to The Star and working in his office. The owners wouldn't tell him anything. Afterwards they said his contract "expired" so they didn't actually fire him. The Cowboys staff (admin, scouts, etc) all said it was incredibly awkward seeing Garrett still showing up to work for days.

Unless Jerry has a *wink-nod* agreement with another coach, you typically need to fire your coach a month before the end of the season so that the best prospects don't get taken by other teams.

Of course when Jerry fired Garrett he waited until the last minute and picked the last, lumped up and bruised fruit left at the market.

Fair point but pretty sure this time everyone knows the job will be there. I also don't think Jerry wants to pay a guy like Ben Johnson who I heard is asking for $15 million. Last time a coach was fired mid season. We ended up with a decade of Garrett.

I’d rather the whole season go and this entire staff leaves. Otherwise we run the risk of Zimmer taking over.

I’m wouldn’t lobby for Zimmer, but I would be ok with under 2 circumstances. First, he gets fully autonomy to select his staff. And second, he selects an innovative OC with a more creative offense.

Unfortunately, I don’t think those would happen. Jerry will probably force Shottenheimer as his OC.

I'm OK with that but not OK with losing to the eagles I hope we win and I don't care how Cooper Russ plays or doesn't play or looks better or not better than that I don't wanna lose any eagles but if we get Mike McCarthy out of here early we don't have to wait till after the season and let it carry over and wait till midnight when the contract runs up this whole nonsense with Garrett yes that would be acceptable
