WR Kevin Ogletree beats out WR Sam Hurd for a roster spot. Thoughts? :D

Manuel Johnson probably has a better shot, but both Hurd and Stanback are on the bubble as far as I am concerned. Also I dont think the Roscoe Parish possibility is totally dead yet.

Ogletree 2009=Amendola 2008. We won't hear the end of it until he gets cut. :(

anything can happen, but extremely doubtful

Also Sam Hurd is a restricted free agent and he has a moderately high cap hit which is NOT guaranteed

thats fine and all, but its still doubtful that Ogletree beats him out...just my opinion

I was hoping we would've drafted Louis Murphy. I don't know if an undrafted rookie can beat out hurd, but anything's possible.

I would think he has a lot more chance at beating out Stanhack

if isander can learn center fast enough, he will beat out proctor. kid can play.

Can he tackle on special teams?

If not then he better be an epic receiver.

Not true. He was Ireland's pet cat who we are now stuck with. If he doesn't light up training camp, I think he will be gone.

For everyone hating on Stanback... You know how this organization is with playing young players...

Especially with TO at that position.

I hope we give him a chance.

Maybe he can make plays. Maybe he can't. But play him or you'll never know.

If any of the rookies are even close to Hurd, then he's gone. It's like Parcells said, sometimes you have to cut the better player and fill the roster spot with a guy who has more potential. Hurd is a solid but unspectacular player, so if the young blood shows anything, then he's gone. Stanback stays based on his potential and the fact that he can contribute as a retun guy, this is his last chance to make an impact though.

One new WR will be on the roster this year and one will be put on the practice squad, in my opinion.

carpenter will become a viable player on defense this year. he will eventually take over brooks spot maybe not this year though

We didn't just spend a draft upgrading our ST unit to start cutting contributing position players who are among the 2-3 best STers on our roster. Hurd's going to stay. Stanback could be in trouble.
