Where does he end up - He probably ends 2007 at 770 or so and 1 more like year he breaks 800. He has 3,000 hits next year to keep him going.

Does he push 2009 and get a jump to 830-840? Judging that pitchers still are pitching around him and he's crushing strikes I can see him playing two more seasons at a high level especially in a DH role.

He recently said 2008 would be his last.

But then, I remember him saying a few years ago that 2006 would be his last. So who knows?

The question is, who would sign Bonds? I don't see many teams lining up to give him millions of dollars to DH. I also don't see him playing for less money. The Giants are not going to keep him after this year. I wonder where Bonds would play?

I think he really will want that 3000th hit and play for less money. I can see the Yankee's making a play. And at end of day Giants are making a lot of $ because of Barry Bonds and a 3000th hit or #800 will cause more mega coverage.

I don't know that I agree with this. The Yankees are going to have to sign pitchers and extend ARod. I don't know that they will be in the market for Bonds. They are trying to get out of Giambi's contract right now because of Steroid use. I don't see the Yankees signing Bonds but who knows?

I definatly don't see the Giants signing him. At the end of the day, the Giants have to be competative and with Bonds in the lineup, they aren't. They have said that they don't intend to resign him but I guess we will see.

That the Giants are not cometitive really has nothing to do with Barry Bonds. Teams dead pitch around him and he is still going to hit 35 home runs. His OBP is still crazy at age 43. I think the $ involved with fans and media interest are in his favor.

Bonds is a lightning rod of attention both good and bad. He will play next year somewhere - JMO

Yankee stadium is Left hand hitter friendly, he could hit 35-40 there as a DH.

I don't think he'll be a Yankee. Just don't see it.

I think if he takes less money, lot less than what he is making this year (15 mil?), then I could see an AL team sign him to be a DH.

Quick check is 5 HR's in last 10 games.

He should be at 35+ for season in role playing reduced games. Till pitchers can dominate him he has no reason to retire. Pitchers to this day pitch around the 43 year old and if they challenge him he mostly blats it. His OBP still hovers near .500....
