There is pretty much no way we are getting O'Callaghan out of there. They just drafted the kid with a 5th round pick. Does anyone really think that Shanle has that sort of value?

You're right about that. This site posted an article earlier today saying how much they were impressed w/ the guy. This is what is maiking the other guy expendible.

I agree with you on one thread about Romo, and then you go and do this. Shanle a starting LB?? Only if someone gets hurt and retires... this season we'd have to have two or three LBs to get hurt/retire.

Parcells is a evil genius, much like his prodigy Bill Belechik....he knows a bonafide linebacker when he sees one and isn't concerned with star power or what round a player was taken in.

Look at the facts....we were 5-2 with Shanle starting last year when he had a career season, when he was injured and Fowler played we were getting run all over without The Animal clogging the middle...

If anybody is trade bait right now it's Ayodele, who has had a very dissappointing camp trying to transition to the 3-4....also don't be surprised if we unload Al Singleton as his better days are behind him.

I figure a deal will get done, but if anyone thinks Shanle is bringing a stud O-lineman in return or anything other than a serviceable backup then they are placing way too much value at his feet. He was a longshot to make this team and the Pats will know that.

The fact that a perrenial powerhouse like New England is interested in The Animal should tell us all we need to know....the biggest mistake we could make right now is trading one of our starting LB's for a depth player.

Unless Pioli is willing to cough up Deon Branch or Richard Seymour, The Answer says thanks but no thanks...

Unloading Singleton I can see... he's getting up there in years. But Ayodele?? Teams don't sign free agents then trade them before they even see a regular season snap. All that would do is send up a red flag that this guy is a wash out/disappointment/a waste of money. Also NE plays the 3-4 so why would they want Ayodele if he's had a disappointing camp transitioning to the 3-4?

And Shanle is going to be cut from this team if he doesn't get traded. Book it. We have too many LBs for him to make it. You can say we were whatever record (I don't know the specifics, but I think you're wrong, because he played the last games from last season right??)... but last year we didn't have near the LB depth we do this season. Totally different scenario.

I do know it looks like Flo, Petitti, Columbo, and McQuistan here unless we make a move. I think Fabini is as good as gone when cuts start.
