I am happy the people of Boston can breathe a sigh of relief.

I hope some useful intelligence can be gathered from him to help further enhance the security of the free world but AQ tends to operate on a need to know basis for all these terrorist mini-cells that exist all over the world.

The sad part is they seemed to feel as though they weren't accepted here. The truth is that all people of good character, able body/mind and strong work ethic are afforded a chance to succeed in modern society. It may not be easy but there is opportunity for the meritorious to succeed.

It is sad their anger boiled over to haunt so many lives of the innocent.

My condolences for the losses experienced by my American brothers.

That what's wrong with society and the justice system. A big tall tree and a short piece of rope would deter a lot of senseless killings. Eye for an eye Josey Whales style.

Yes, lynchings are exactly what's missing from our once-great society.

He must have missed Hang 'Em High. I would say it takes way too long for a trial these days.

Swift justice is not the same as a lynching :banghead:

In this case a Pale Rider could have saved the taxpayers a lot of $$$$

If they do not put this guy to death, .. then we may as well just do away with the death penalty.

Sets off bombs in a crowd of people, killing a child along with 2 others, maiming many others, shooting and killing a police officer, throwing bombs at police, etc.
Not necessarily. Just the threat of the death penalty could very easily get him to talk. While I'd love to see him hang high, I'd rather allow him to plea bargain down to life-without-parole in exchange for getting good information to prevent future attacks (and save American lives).

So just because he doesn't actually get the death penalty doesn't mean it didn't do its job.

Just a side piece I saw scrolling on the bar of the screen yesterday.

One economist estimated it cost about 330M to shut down Boston for a day.

You never seen Hang 'Em High either I assume? In that one Clint Eastwood was an innocent man that was lynched but managed to survive and was made a Marshall to bring those men in.

My favorite part of this whole mess is they caught these guys so fast because a guy who shouldnt have survived did and IDd em. That guy is a hero IMO. Lost both his legs. Hopefully when he recovers some company offers him a cushy job.

That guy only lived because some random guy pinched off his femoral artery. That's the craziest part. Some dude just trying to help a guy out ends up saving the life of the guy who ultimately IDs the bombers.

They were very fortunate that a lot of healthcare personnel were already on the scene when it happened. Triage was pretty much set-up. If this happened at a non-event with the same numbers of people, we are looking at probably 50 deaths at least.

And that man in the cowboy hat who pinched his artery, that is a hero. So is the man who lost both legs, there were many hero's there that day.

The dud in the cowboy hat has a heartbreaking story.

Lost one of his sons in the war, and another tried to commit suicide by immolation. Can't remember if he lost the second one.

Man, I was watching CNN from 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Interesting stuff, but lesson learned. Never mess with the USA!

And never trust the main stream media! They (especially CNN) had been 30 minutes behind Twitter, and more speculative.

Was a great movie.

It featured one of the beautiful and talented Inger Stevens who committed suicide within a couple years after shooting that movie.

Inger is one of those stars of the 1960's that no one knows of today.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you there. I followed this story quite closely and from multiple outlets and believe me, if you take away tweets from actual mainstream media outlets, the rest of Twitter only gets it right about 15% of the time.

NBC first reported that the suspect was in custody before any other channel. I also found out the news on twitter while watching it on CNN before they broke the news. It was about 3 minutes after I found out.

The burden in being the media is that you actually have to confirm things before reporting them.

Twitter was all over the place.
