GO TO NFL.COM FOR PROOF!!!
If you check out the pro bowl voting for strong safeties he has more int's and pass deflections than any other strong safeties, and among all safties in the league including reed, dawkings, polamolu, EVERYONE!! he leads all safeties in pass deflections and is tied with adrian wilson and polamolu for the lead with 3 interceptions.

So my point is that obviously he might make some errors but so do all of these guys but he also has been making more plays in coverage then these guys also and not to mention no one else cant even tie his sneakers when it comes to hitting.

So roy williams may very well be the most complete safety in football the numbers dont lie league lead in pass deflections and int's = GOOD COVERAGE in my book. just my thoughts.

i vote "bottom line" is the most misused cliche in postings today.

I cant say that he is absolutely the best or not. I do not get to see some of the other safties play much.

I am more than inclined to say that all safeties are safeties for a reason. If they were excellent cover people they would be cornerbacks IMO.

I have been very critical of RW (Not on the board though), but after seeing safety after safety getting scorched I realized that it happens to all safeties a time or two...three...four...or more throughout the year.

If you ask Commander fans they will tell you that Taylor is excellent in coverage. If Taylor is excellent in coverage then Roy W is the Deion Sanders of strong safeties.

Im just saying that people tend to use stats as proof around here and im saying that as far as deflections and int's( the measuring stick for coverage) roy williams is leading all safeties in those categories. We cannot ignore that he's making more plays on the ball than all of those guys, and at safety your lined up way off the ball so its not like qb's can just ignore these guys like they do corners.

i'm just saying that while i share a respect for roy as i own ~8 roy williams various jerseys, i don't give a whole lot of objectivity to someone who uses a form of his name and uses "BOTTOM LINE!!!" as if that stops all arguments before they can even begin.

Perhaps, but that's all I want anyomore, ... the bottom line.

In this day of sports broadcasting, highlight shows, sports talk shows, over analyzing, PTI, Cold Pizza, Around the Horn, blah, blah, blah, yada yada yada, ... just give me the bottom line.

And the bottom line is, after all of the discussion and disection, Roy Williams is a good Safety.

Same as Owens, after all of the discussion and disection, he is a good WR.

I am always glad that both are Cowboys.

.....ANNNNND THEIR OFF....

Super Homer is in the lead.
Middle of the road Mick is in second place.
Book and and Bottom line are tied in the middle
Negative Nancy is coming up from the rear.

He may be in the back now but don't forget the closer big arguing thread who has a kick at the end.

:D

I understand where you coming from iceberg i was just saying that after all the arguing about coverage and everything else, if people look at the numbers roy has 10 pass deflections and 3 ints and he leads the league in coverage plays among safeties.

I wasn't trying to stop peoples arguments i was actually trying to give our fans another fact to point out to some of these other fans who are homers for their players.

Crazy cboy Roy made that big hit that should've won the game last week against the skins that one for a 3 yrd loss to put the further back on 4th down for the feild goal kick the first one novack missed.

His team just let him and romo down thats all, but its stuff like that which people dont pay attention to. If we had won that game nobody still would have been talking about that crucial stop just about how roy got beat on a reverse pass for that pass interference you feel me?

yeah...especially if its 2004.

Zing - and true. Even that year was alot of tipped passes and johnny-on-the-spot luck from Reed.

bet matt leinart wouldn't of faked out reed like he did roy

Too bad Roy doesn't have eyes in the back of his head like Reed I guess. That was a savvy move from Leinart and an impossible situation for Roy. Get real.

well ed reed has 1 int and 5 pass deflections and to compare hitting with him and roy is like a wiffle bat compared to a louisville slugger.
So he has made half of the plays Roy did this year and still has the supeiror talent with mcallister and rolle around him.

He should be having a hall of fame season this year
