I was taking with a friend of mine who is die hard Niners fan. Asked him about Bowman. Not happy they cut him. Said he is great against the run but not so good against the pass. Just FYI.

With the way we have been getting gashed without Lee in the lineup, we could surely use another instinctive linebacker in our run defense.

TJ Ward. Joe Haden and now Bowman would go a long way to fixing the D

Yep or as I've been saying I would've traded for Sherman, and gotten Ward. Add Bowman and our D might seem legit with a new D.C.

As for right now however, other than changing coaching regimes, adding Bowman is the best way to upgrade our D right now, plus we don't even lose a pick to do it.

I doubt it’s a deciding factor but having a bye and playing against the 49ers may work in our favor if he is just looking for a one year deal.

He won’t have to miss a game.

Bowman is only 29 and was on pace to surpass his all pro numbers from 2015 before his injury last year.

He's still an elite run defender. He struggles in coverage because he's slow.

Bowman : “Sign in Oakland, it’s where I want to be.”

Agent : “What about Dallas?”

Bowman : “No thanks.”

Agent : “If we schedule a meeting and tell Oakland about it, I can get you an extra 3 million per year and you don’t even have to leave Oakland.”

Bowman : “Sold.”

He won't make it out of Oakland. I hope he does, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Even if he does, we probably won't sign him anyway.

If he's looking for a contender, OAK losing today probably helps.

If we can just get him in for a visit, we'll probably get him. But I imagine not having to move in-season is pretty attractive to him.

If he visits with Dallas....and Dallas really wants him, he will be a Cowboy.

Personally I hope we get him. But the Raiders might not let him leave without a contract, and the Cowboys might not want him as bad as I do.

But what do I know.

Im curious why we are so excited about signing a guy who quit on his team, a team that was not winning. Im sure he is smart enough to know if he signs with us he is not signing with the 70's Steelers.
