There is a picture of everymember of CowboysZone next to the definition.

Actually some here have their picture there 3 or 4 times...

I dont know if you guys realize this but...I can recall Romo doing this Manning thing a couple times recently. NO???

so why isnt there a penalty? or a rule created for that?

It is not aginst the rule, he is not doing it to draw the team off-sides he is trying to confuse the defense by making them think he is changing the play.

Correct, and if it starts working watch the proclamations of how brilliant it is because our player is doing it.

I don't know how this got to 3 pages already, so I might as well just add to it. :)

This is nothing new, QBs have done this from the beginning. The QB pointing out the defense is the same as an audible in that it can be a live call or dummy. Dallas does the kill signal and guess what....sometimes it doesn't mean anything. They are just letting the defense think they are going to max protect.

Whether they yell 'blue 42', 'Omaha, Omaha', '62,42' or point at the safety/cb/lb, it just means they are either changing a play, reading how the defense reacts, or sending a fake signal.

No just one that was not inspired by a Dallas Cowboy :laugh2:

Helmet rule - Emmitt
Pushoff rule - Irvin
Horsecollar - Roy

did I miss any?

Hands to the face rule - Erik Williams

you guys ever hear some of the crap peyton says when he is making "adjustments" listen on sunday, you will here him say "OMAHA!" atleast 50 times

States, Cities and colors are all common calls, on the line.. mostly to dictate protection schemes,, but colors can be a change of dirrection for the play..

Mel Renfro Rule
Deion Sanders Rule

What Manning does is no different than what many QB's have done and still do in the NFL. There is nothing wrong with it.

I have no basis for this other than being a homer, but I think the whole salary cap was developed just to target Jerry and the Cowboys.

There is nothing wrong with it. It is just annoying because he takes it to the next level.

Don't forget the California Quake by Butch Johnson... but actually Landry made that rule so he wouldn't do it anymore...

I loved it when Butch did that celebration... FAAAN-tastic:starspin

Couldn't possibly agree with you anymore.

About the QB pulling away from center. It's ok when I see a QB step up to the center look around then decides to back off, that doesn't seem like a problem. But I've seen PManning come up stick his hands down there appears to say something then he backs off.

K-Dub = Kevin Williams
quarterbacks pull their hands out from under center and call audibles all the time.

i think it's the combination of Peyton losing each big game he faces, having an all-star team around him AND overdoing it that creates the discussion.

he's the Arod of QBs.

there is effective and there is overkill. you could argue it detracts from his game actually. win a superbowl or two doing it then he can have the last laugh.

Romo isnt' out of hand with it and does have good communication with the WRs especially... something absent for a long, long time around here. i also don't think 90% of what he is doing at this time is bogus, unlike peyton. i don't see the similarity whatsoever.

There is a lot of truth in that statement in bold.

I think it is being smart myself and I think Peyton is a very smart QB who has great command of that offense.

Not really.

But it still does nothing to negate the fact that it is annoying.

It reminds me of people when they use the "quotation marks" sign with their fingers when talking.

I could attack someone when I see that.

I see you are easily annoyed.....umm.... I'll have to remember that.:)
