I'm working retail. I can't blame onions being cut or smoke inhalation after getting struck by his story. Dak is truly a "started from the bottom, now he's here" story. He has such a great heart, a great mind, if you can't root for him I have a problem with that. His story should inspire the parents on this board, IMO.

I'm in this kid's corner. Was hoping he'd never play a down this year, but here we are and he's light years ahead of my expectations already.

Will be one hell of a show.

“HE TOLD US, ‘ALL 31 TEAMS THAT PASSED UP ON ME, THEY’RE GOING TO KNOW WHO DAK PRESCOTT IS.’”

Get'em Dak!

The funny thing is, Dallas passed on him, too. Twice. First when they tried to move up for Lynch and second when they tried to move up for Cook. Luckily it didn't work out.

Damn onion cutting ninjas! Got me a little teary-eyed, his mom sounds like a great woman who knew how to raise her kids.

Even if he is not successful in the NFL, he will succeed later in life at whatever he chooses, can't teach those kinds of morals and character later in life

I've heard things about Dak that praised him to high heaven but this article convinced me enough to evoke some powerful emotions. Dak is obviously the type of person that anyone with a heart within them can't help but to admire and respect. I'd like nothing better than to see this guy find all the happiness and success he so richly deserves. He also couldn't have arrived as a Cowboy at a more opportune time.

One can't help but think that he's a winner through and through, even if he never wins another game. His impressive talent as our new Cowboys QB is, simply put, just the frosting on the cake -- he's a good man, first and foremost. Surely, we'll be wishing him the best in all that he does.

Broaddus has said that the scouts thought they already had a Dak in Showers. The coaches fell in love with Dak at the senior bowl.

There are a lot of Cowboys players with great stories who ultimately couldn't play in the NFL - Felix Jones comes to mind among others. If anyone who deserved to have great success actually succeeds, I hope its Dak. We NEED him to be great. I have no doubt he'll have a great life - but will he have a great career? That is the question...

I have relatives and friends who live in Haughton, LA (I grew up in Bossier City) and they all speak highly of DAK. They were talking about him before the draft and hoping the Cowboys drafted him.
I know that people will have a hometown bias, but I couldn't find anybody saying anything negative about the guy.

I grew up in Bossier City as well. My CEO's daughter graduated with Dak and he was in her circle of friends. He said Dak is very polite, talented and driven...

He texted me on draft day and said "You guys just picked the best QB in this draft"...

Honestly, I'm just glad I don't have to look at that doofus Paxton Lynch all the time. His face is about as punchable as Pharma Bro.

Really enjoyed reading this one (long):
http://thelab.bleacherreport.com/dak-prescott/
ok read that , good read, I am even more convinced now.
I just hope he has a good 1st game.

One thing it doesnt bring up is he finished college and I think got a masters degree,
unlike many who come out early with no degree.
He has the physical talent, but also the intelligence, and character.
