I have seen him interviewed a few times, he comes off as having a hell of a lot more sense than to do the things he does. I would go with serious alcohol problems over a mental health thing.

Yep, the classic......what could have been,

I'll counter saying the questions should be these: What health issues are causing him to turn to alcohol? Why was he using marijuana prior to this? I think the answer to these questions are the keys to him getting the help he needs.

We wake up in the morning to read horrible news of lives lost due to these illnesses. Not saying he is down this road, but fear he might be headed towards it if help isn't there for him

The devil is not real. He's just a made up boogie monster. A symbol of mankind's inability to control themselves. We created the devil, so we could have someone to blame for our ignorance and stupidity.

The Devil likes this.

What if he has no mental health issues and is just an idiot?

If this was a current Cowboys player he would be getting roasted even if it were his 1st offense

He does need the former of what you said. I think the consequences of actions should depend on what best suits the crime and the person. Just simply throwing a person in prison doesn't always work. There's a reason why the US has the 3rd highest rates (https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/recidivism-rates-by-country) of recidivism in the world. It's because prisons are thought to be the 1 stop shop place to punish, correct, and fix people. I think creating alternates that can dig deeper into a person can help change this.

I say, in honor of Festivus, let us empty our prisons for the holidays!

Shuddup.
Did you buy the corn and bottled yeast? We're talking 120 gallons, chap.

But gods and angels are real?
That's a relief.

Like any alcoholic, he was always one drink away from relapsing. It's a tough challenge but millions have succeeded. Until he understands staying sober, not football or anything else is his first priority, he'll never win this battle. It's a challenge he has to fight every day for the rest of his life.

Oh so the devil created guns, alcohol and money. Every country has a budget. Meaning every country refuses to print out enough money to take care of it's own people. Guess the devil made them do that too.

Mankind is stupid and they needed somebody to blame it on.

@GimmeTheBall!
Yeah I've been around since the dawn of time spreading stupidity. Why you think you make all those crazy threads? It's me making you do that. I own you.

Yes, he certainly was. It's a shame, and society should really do better about dealing with mental health. I think he's got an illness. I think the weed and alcohol were ways he's trying to cope with what's bothering him. I hope he can get good help.
A lot of us are having issues with family, jobs, finances etc. A lot of us are not getting into a car drunk and driving it because of it. I'm tired of hearing the excuse. At least this guy has a ton of money to get the proper help unlike a lot of us.

I'm not dishing your statement though and Im sure your not excusing him either. I hope he can get help also. I'm also sure all these hits to the head helmet or not, play around with the mental well being. Just watch a few episodes of DR G and you'll see the damage caused to the brain from much lesser hits than he has taken.

Exactly. If the cause of what he has been doing is mental, then the corrective measures for him should address the mental aspects of what he did moreso than the consequences of the actions caused by the decisions triggered by his potential mental health issues. This isn't to say to ignore the decisions, and he should be held accountable for that, but the rehabilitation of him should be geared more toward helping him mentally to reduce the odds that he will enter into the prison cycle or kill someone next time.
