I didn't like this signing and still don't.

That said, he is still the best option we had at that point in time.

I'm not comfortable with him, but I'm resigned to the fact that for what we needed he was the best fit.

Now you know why Commanders fans celebrated when we signed him.

I was actually a supporter of the signing and Brad Johnson. I based my opinion on his resurrection of the Vikings a few season ago when Culpepper went down, but now, I regret even supporting that notion. Anyone could see that his play has seriously digressed. I know it is only a pre-season "tune up" game, but you expect your veterans to be game ready. Johnson was far from it, and that is a bad sign. At this point, there really isn't anyone else to bring in unless we look for roster cuts and bring someone else in... maybe Jones and Garrett can talk Plummer out of retirement? I am all for having veteran experience that can produce in a pinch, but Johnson is not that guy.

Romo goes down; we aren't contending. Same could be said for the Colts (if Manning goes down), Bengals (if Palmer goes down), Patriots (if Brady goes down), Chargers (if Rivers goes down), etc.
Yeah, well I don't care about those teams... I do care about the Cowboys! :D

Is it too much to ask that we have a roster that's three deep at every position? No, I didn't think so! ;)

God I pray, Romo stays healthy enough to play all 16 games!

Sorry to nitpick, but never short-change a prayer. Think about it. What if the prayer is answered and Romo stays healthy throughout the regular season--only to get hurt before the playoffs?

My prayer--> God, let Romo enjoy a very LONG, healthy and successful career--hopefully all with the Cowboys. Amen. :wink2:

I might be a little nervous if Johnson had to start a game this season, but can you imagine what a first team top 10 defense would do to Moore if he had to start a meaningful game. They would eat him alive. At least Johnson could dink and dunk it down the field with the weapons we have on offense.

I will stick with him!

We need to develop a young QB behind Romo. One that can step in and play if need be. Having a 40 year old backup really is not an answer. Go make another Romo, Bulger, Brady, Hasselbach, Delehomme, Schaub. Watch Dan Orlovski in Detroit also. All guys that were groomed.Maybe Matt Moore is that guy? Dunno

Why stick a young QB behind a young QB? He would not get the reps that he would need which is why many teams with young QB's starting rely on vet QB's as backups. They tend to need less reps and have a much better understanding than a young QB

Do you remember how many years a young Tony Romo was groomed before he was named the starter? If Moore is the real deal, he will receive the necessary grooming to backup and/or eventually replace Romo. And if HE'S not the answer, we have not shut the door on other qb candidates.

Johnson is at the end of his career. Patience. He will not be here forever.
