Bradie James needs to be a factor instead of a fraud!

I am not really into blaming players on our team. But the truth has to be said. I'm sick of seeing threads acting like Roy is the problem.

Lets look at what was supposed to be the biggest defensive stand of the game for our team and who came thru and who did'nt. We take the lead 24-21 go back on defense and need a stop. If we stop them i personally think we dont look back and win the game.

First play Tom Brady in the shotgun and throws to Randy Moss on about a 15 yard dig route. Bradie James dropped back in the zone where Moss was but Tom Brady pretty much ignored him and threw it anyway right over James head and who came up to make the tackle? Roy Williams knocked the crap outta Moss on a low tackle that i am surprised Moss got up from.

Second play a run to the right. James makes the tackle but the runner get another yard after first contact. Kevin Faulk? OK Bradie. Run was for 9 yards.

Third play Tom Brady throws into double coverage to Moss but the ball was overthrown. If it was a good throw it probrably would've gotten intercepted or batted down. Good job by Reeves and Hamlin. Bradie did'nt do anything.

Fouth play of the drive Bradie blitzes and KNOCKS DOWN ONE OF OUR LINEMAN! Whew, great job. That gave Brady even more time to hit Wes Welker who was guarded by Nate Jones for a first down.

Fifth play run to the right. Spears makes a tackle for no gain. But judging from what i see on this board Spears sucks. Good play Marcus.

Sixth play of the drive. Quick pass to Wes Welker on Newman gain of 5. Newman missed the tackle by the way.

Seventh play of the drive. Bradie James actually gets to Brady. But of course it was a little too late and Tom Brady hit Gaffney for a first down on Jacque Reeves in 1 on 1 coverage. I think Reeves should win that battle!

Eight play Bradie and Ayodele blitz. Does'nt matter because again Brady threw a quick pass to Stallworth on Newman for 10 yards. He kept doing that quick pass that teams do when its a run play, but if the qb sees the corner playing off he just throws it to the reciever quick. You can tell Newman does'nt trust his speed at the moment. Last year he was up in recievers face every play.

Ninth play. Another quick pass, this time to Moss. Newman finally sniffs this one out for no gain.Next play is the interference call on Pat Watkins. If you watch the play Bradie tried to drop into zone on the side Moss was on, but Randy ran a stop and go. So basically Bradie was guarding the air.

On the biggest defensive drive of the game I saw alot of our players make mistakes and none of them were the D line or the safeties. It was our corners and our middle linebacker. But im not gonna rain on anyones parade. ROY WILLIAMS SUCKS!

Personally, I fell off the Bradie Bandwagon last year. This year, I'm riding high on it again. Bradie has made some big time plays this year.

Yeah, leading the team in tackles -- that's what a fraud does.

What every down linebacker does'nt lead his team in tackles? All im saying is on the biggest drive of the game against one of the best he did nothing but run over our defensive lineman and guard air. Thats all.

From the guy defending Roy Williams? Hilarious. Bradie is back big time after a terrible 06 season.

Go back and watch how many times he stuffed 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 of the running back he made against Buffalo. Granted, Buffalo isn't the Pats, but to stuff 3rd and 4th down conversions is big time.

That Buffalo game has nothing to do with this. Our "captain" did not show up when we needed him. He should not be on the field on nickel/dime packages because hes not good in coverage. But because hes our "captain" we are not going to take him out on 3rd down obvious passing downs. If you watch that drive just pay close attention to all the players on the field. Aside from Nate Jones he played the worse or anybody on the defense on that drive. That is a fact.

I thought Bradie James was playing quite well. I mean QUITE well.

I think maybe my house gets a different video feed than everybody else.

Bradie has been playing extremely well. I might take the argument more seriously if you didn't come out from the outset and outright admit you we're trying to pin things on Bradie to deflect criticism off of Roy.

I too believe James has been playing very well thus far, leading the Cowboys with 38 tackles, with one sack. We don't hear his name much because he is getting the job done in most of the plays.

Again. On our biggest drive of the game our captain did'nt come through. I dont see how anybody can defend that. Bradie has played well this year but it has'nt been anything special. I still see teams throwing checkdowns to running backs and he and Ayodele missing the tackles. I still see them both not gettin enough depth in their dropbacks. I still see them blitzing up the middle with no sucess. But they do play the run pretty good. Just think he should make more of an impact. He did'nt really do anything good yesterday.

Nobody expects Bradie to be Ray Lewis, but he has been extremely solid. That's more than adequate considering the Cowboys are paying him nowhere near the highest paid in the NFL among his position, he's not one of the faces of the franchise, he's not perennially named to Pro Bowls based on reputation and he doesn't get commercial endorsements for mediocre play. Unlike others.

Well i see nobody else agrees with me. All i can say is watch the drive for yourself and you tell me what he is doing. I saw other players who get bashed on this site all the time do what they were supposed to do when it was time to show what kind of defense we were. And im not just talking about Roy. I dont understand why people never talk about the middle linebackers. They are making ALOT of mistakes from what i see. But like the guy above said, i guess we have different video feeds.

  • (1st) 2-10-NE 26 (13:10) (Shotgun) 12-T.Brady pass incomplete short middle to 88-K.Brady. Pass incomplete at the New England 29; James closest defender. (Zero gain, Bradie)
  • (1st) 2-3-DAL 33 (10:03) (Shotgun) 12-T.Brady pass short middle to 33-K.Faulk to DAL 29 for 4 yards (56-B.James). (Zero gain, Bradie)
  • (1st) 1-10-DAL 29 (9:19) 34-S.Morris right guard to DAL 26 for 3 yards (56-B.James). (3 yards, tackle Bradie)
  • (1st) 1-10-NE 31 (4:25) 34-S.Morris left tackle to NE 34 for 3 yards (94-D.Ware; 56-B.James).(3 yards, tackel Bradie)
  • (1st) 2-7-DAL 35 (2:24) 12-T.Brady pass incomplete short left to 81-R.Moss. Pass incomplete sideline at the Dallas 32; James closest defender. (Zero yards, Bradie)
  • (2nd) 1-20-NE 18 (9:48) (Shotgun) 12-T.Brady pass incomplete short middle to 88-K.Brady. Pass incomplete at the New England 46; James closest defender. (Zero yards, Bradie)
  • (2nd) 1-10-DAL 24 (6:30) 34-S.Morris up the middle to DAL 25 for -1 yards (97-J.Hatcher; 56-B.James). (-1 yard, tackle for a loss, Bradie)
  • (3rd) 1-10-NE 37 (9:36) 33-K.Faulk right tackle to NE 46 for 9 yards (56-B.James). (9 yard gain, Bradie)
  • (4th) 2-5-NE 25 (14:01) 33-K.Faulk up the middle to NE 28 for 3 yards (56-B.James; 26-K.Hamlin). (3 yards, Bradie)
  • (4th) 2-2-DAL 24 (6:35) 33-K.Faulk up the middle to DAL 19 for 5 yards (56-B.James). (5 yards, Bradie)
  • (4th) 1-6-DAL 6 (4:15) 33-K.Faulk right guard to DAL 4 for 2 yards (51-A.Ayodele; 56-B.James). (2 yards, Bradie)

Bradie had 4 tackles and 4 assists.

On plays that Bradie was involved in, he gave up a total of 25 yards on 11 plays. Thats 2.27 yards per play. (not bad for a middle linebacker)

5 of 11 plays went for no gain or a loss.

Now, not to hide any information, this doesn't include plays where he should have made a play, but didn't and wasn't involved in the tackle.

The point is, didn't play badly. Maybe he had a play or two where he didn't make the play, but that happens to everyone. If you look at the Barber near safety play, how many Patriots failed to make a play in the end zone. Barber gained 2 yards on that play.

This is the NFL, you are bound to miss a play or two that *could* have been made. The idea is to make more great plays than bad plays. Bradie is doing that this year.

No but hes the CAPTAIN! You can bring up all the other crap but on THIS Cowboy team, he is the Captain. Witten plays like a Captain. Keith Davis has been playing like a Captain. Take Witten away from this team you will see a stunning change in our offense. We all saw the change of our special teams without Killer. Take James from this defense? I doubt we will see that big of a change. I doubt teams are gonna be running for 75 yard runs. And i dont expect him to be Ray Lewis, but can he be James Farrior? Maybe Mike Vrabel? Hell even Patrick Willis. Good job of fooling everybody but me Bradie. Step your game up!
