Legally, it's not right, but it's going to be hard to generate much outrage for a woman beater.

I don't give a crap about the mob. it's time someone stands up to the mob and say enough. they are going to far.
There is no outrage because Hardy is considered a domestic abuser in an era where is actions are unacceptable. Despite being cleared legally, he is perceived as an abuser. So nobody cares if the NFL leaves him out to try. Right or wrong, many will say he had it coming to him.

True. but there is also no outrage because the media hates the cowboys. national and local. this BS has to end. someone needs to be man enough to stand up and say ENOUGH!

I wonder if an injunction would also override Hardy's presence on Goodell's stupid exemption list, which he is technically still on if I remember correctly.

Good question
I thought he was removed from exemptions list once they handed down the suspension

You may be right about that, maybe someone else can clarify.

I don't think anyone supports a woman beater
The question is who's responsibility is it to punish them, police and the courts or their employer
Should everyone charged with a similar act be immediately fired? Fired if they are convicted? Or should punishment for breaking the law be left up to law enforcement and the courts

I think in all likelihood if he ends up taking it to court he will be able to get an injunction that allows him to play pending his appeal

Yeah, then they will suspend him come time for the playoffs.

Would be interesting to know how long the backlog is for case load in whatever court this goes to. If the ruling comes down from the NFL and then it goes to trial and the ruling from Federal Court takes X weeks/months and that happens to coincide with the playoff schedule, that will be very interesting indeed.

That reminds me........ I have to take my Tinfoil hat in to get polished!

I agree. but why is there no outrage in the media about this. about how inrair it is to Hardy and to the cowboys ?
Because nobody outside the Metroplex thinks the Cowboys are getting treated unfairly or, at the very most, they shrug their shoulders and say "ya the league office sucks but it's the Cowboys so screw 'em."

If you beat your wife, I'd fire you. I've done it to employees for a lot less, even Facebook postings. Employees are a reflection of their employer.

I realize this is different because there is a CBA and Hardy doesn't work directly for the NFL.

The league doesn't want to look like it gave him two games, I know. Why they're delaying the process to prevent an appeal, I'm not sure.

Alleged woman beater. Come on now.

I don't even know if you can call him Alleged. I mean, that suggest that the accusation is in doubt or yet to be decided. The Legal System did not convict him of this so I'm not sure if that is even applicable. Honestly don't know.

Actually, it did convict him.

Im of the opinion that if the court deems you innocent, you are innocent, its really that simple. Did he do it? Most likely, but he had his day in court and was deemed not guilty. Thats the end of it. as it should be.

Was not upheld so according to the legal system, he is not guilty of a crime. I don't really want to rehash all of that, was just interested in if the term can actually be applied according to what I understand the meaning of the term to be?

Innocent until proven guilty. And he was not guilty.

The exemption list is an example of how untrustworthy this League Office is. Yet another tool to bully players with.

No, he was convicted on two counts. He then appealed, and she didn't show up (after he paid her off), and the case was dropped.

Actually as evidenced by his reception at the draft the Commish is the most unpopular figure in the League. The fans pretty much think everything he does is rediculous. The consensus of people I've talked to even here in Skins Country is that he already missed enough games and should be fined the game checks to cover the suspension. I believe that is what the players thought would happen with the exempt list.
