I will take the bait...
I agree that actions might suggest Jerry doesnt understand the "trenches" ideology...
But to say he doesnt understand it? I dont know. Its not a new concept by any means and is actually a concept that has haunted this franchise since Jimmy left.
Pretty much the entire World has been screaming that Jimmy understood the trenches concept for 28 years now.
I dont think its that Jerry doesnt understand it...I think Jerry wants to win his way. Now...we can argue until the cows come home that this means Jerry doesnt care about winning or whatever...thats not the issue Im speaking on so no need to derail this into "jerry sucks", "Jerry dont care about winning", "Jerry wants to trailblaze not win"....
I think Jerry fully understands the trenches concept but possibly doesnt want to win on what some would consider Jimmy's coattails...if anything.
Now...Dallas has had some awesome OLines in the last 10 years...its the DLine we need to figure out.
Im not a student of the game...but it seems like Jimmy was pretty ideal in his football beliefs. Win in the trenches and have fast linebackers.
I agree with some of this and my "trenches" comment is obviously limited to the DL, though it took Jerry until 2012 to figure out the OL part.
I'd agree with you on Jerry wanting to win his way and not Jimmy's coattails, but he's been trying to recreate the triplets since 1999. Every team must have an Irvin, Emmitt, and Troy type player.
Jimmy had it all figured out and consulted extensively with Belechik when Bill was building his empire in NE. I read Jimmy's latest book and basically everyone whose anyone in football has come down to the Florida keys to pick his brain...........everyone except Jerry Jones.
