Why would you wantT jones?Enough for a slice of Ronald Jones
I am telling you!Deal looks better for the Cowboys every time you hear more
So they can basically use all of this in FA and then use elliots amount post june 1st for the draft class? They actually have 19.5
That’s Spotrac’s number, 19.5.They actually have 19.5
Yeah right.Making some room for a Defensive tackle hopefully
He knew what he was talking aboutHaven’t heard that name in awhile. He was prevalent at the old site.
I think he they went after a DT it wouldn’t be a NT type. They rather have that guy be cheaper since he plays so little. If they draft or sign a guy it will be a guy to penetrate not stuff runnersYeah right.
They never go after an elite DT or even spend much draft capitol on the position. The Cowboys historically don't value the position while teams like Philly, SF, Tampa, and LA invest heavily in the position. Jerry doesn't understand the team starts in the trenches.I think he they went after a DT it wouldn’t be a NT type. They rather have that guy be cheaper since he plays so little. But I don’t see that guy out there
The guys like Hankins or even Robinson are just run stuffers for the most part and I don’t think they get the snaps. Hankins played about a third of the snaps last year
Fisher seems to think they are going to make 2 more fa signings. So they can basically use all of this in FA and then use elliots amount post june 1st for the draft class?
I know we give the front office a well-deserved hard time, but that's some nice negotiating.https://overthecap.com/brandin-cooks-renegotiates-contract-with-cowboys
The move saves Dallas $6 million in salary cap space this year, dropping Cooks’ cap number from $12 to $6 million while reducing his salary for this year by $500,000. The change really comes in 2024 where Cooks’ salary dropped from $16.5 million to $8 million with a salary cap charge of $10 million.
That salary reduction puts the Cowboys in a better place with their wide receiver allocation this year and also strengthens their place in the trade that was made yesterday, with the new contract making it more likely that Cooks remains on the team next season. The new figure is more along the lines of a number 2 or very high level number 3 compared to his original salary which was closer to that of a lower level number 1.
With a $10 million per year salary, Cooks’ contract would now be on par with Michael Gallup ($11.5 million a year) and give Dallas an option, depending on how things go this year, to move on from Gallup after the year. The lower salary and cap figures also makes things work better if the team keeps all three receivers in 2024 when CeeDee Lamb will either be playing on the option year or on a contract extension.
Got to make a few more than that IMO. We could bring back some of our own, but we need a kicker, long snapper, defensive tackle, running back and backup OL. If he's talking about more costly FA signings, that's probably true as most of those will be easily under $2 million.Fisher seems to think they are going to make 2 more fa signings.
I will take the bait...They never go after an elite DT or even spend much draft capitol on the position. The Cowboys historically don't value the position while teams like Philly, SF, Tampa, and LA invest heavily in the position. Jerry doesn't understand the team starts in the trenches.
Or better yet, the SB feast!Who's ever the Cowboys capologist in charge of this trade --
invite them over to Cook the Easter Feast!
