Brandon Carr donating 110k to help water crisis in Flint, Mi

I went to a Brandon Carr charity softball game once. He arrived via helicopter, which landed in the infield. The wind from the blades shot dirt in everyone's face. It was funny (because I witnessed it from the sideline).

I know he hasn't played up to his contract and he's had some bad games but he makes it so hard to dislike him. He's a class act and it doesn't surprise me that he's helping out people in their time of need. All the media gets caught up sometimes in focusing on the bad things a few players are doing. It's nice to see a good story about an NFL player. Nice job out of him

I just feel like there's 100 other threads dedicated to how much Carr sucks.......the one that's dedicated to him giving back to a community and a people of need turns into a thread about how bad he is or how overpaid he is. As if the other 100 threads about it aren't enough.........

Your'e 100% correct and deleted my rant for this reason. Emotion takes over when you see the name Carr, etc.

Great of him to give back to his hometown. Every little bit counts. I've donated to the United Way there and only wish it was anywhere close to $110K.

Man, some of you guys are brutal. He's doing something nice for his hometown. Also, that's not at all how charity deductions work with the US tax code.

That's his hometown? Did not know that.
As a player he has always moved as if he was wearing lead shoes, but as a human bean that is a nice gesture, nonetheless.

Nice humanitarian gesture for Carr to do that. Nevertheless, I doubt it'll affect the team's insistence upon him taking a pay cut -- not that avoiding it might have been his goal. Anyhow, the ball will be squarely in his court whether to accept or refuse it as he has done in years past. If he turns it down, he'll force the team to look to greener pastures. I believe I could live with that -- no big problem.

I'd rather let a thread die a natural death from lack of responses than to continue to see it bumped, because some people have no self-control and continue to spew dumb ****. No shade to anyone specifically, but if you feel some kinda way about it, then you know the saying. Hit dogs will holler.
