But, but.. His Twitter account!

I'm not one of those Hardy naysayers. I was pushing for him to be here, and am beyond excited for him to be here. But you have to admit, that comment on Twitter was beyond stupid, and it just makes more sense for him to curb it if it's going to be any sort is distraction.

If Lawrence emerges and Gregory is a good looking rookie, I just don't see the Cowboys spending huge money to retain another edge rusher. You'd like to have as many as you can get but not atthat price when you already have two you feel good about.

I don't disagree necessarily. Getting Gregory could change things I know. I think the Cowboys signed Hardy thinking long-term if it worked out this year. Gregory though might make them think they can get away cheap at a premium position for a few years, and that might make Stephen salivate enough on his ledger to change things.

Bottom line is though... if Dallas wants Hardy beyond this season... they can keep him. It will be up to the team.

I agree that it is probably best for him to just stay off of twitter.

I still think this Country has gone completely off of the politically correct deep end. It is becoming absurd.

If this running game does well and this defense does what we think it is going to do then we can really go far. I'm pumped

I don't think it is likely really. Assuming Hardy minds his manners off the field and performs up to expectations off of it, I think Dallas will want to re-sign him at *roughly* market price. Dallas has never minded paying big for an edge rusher.

And, assuming that Dallas does indeed want to re-sign him, I really think Hardy will want to stay in Dallas (unless he just hates Tim McMahon so bad that he wants to relocate... which I see as 50/50).

I think a big part of why Dallas wanted to sign him was to let him clear the stink of DV off his record and then sign him long term.

I do believe he really wants to be here long term. I just think he's going to earn a really big contract someplace and I'm not sure he's not too much of a headache for that. Maybe he's not. We'll certainly put up with a lot from a guy if he can play. It just seems more likely to me that one of the other 31 teams will step up big, since we can't franchise him.

I also don't like his agent and what that indicates about his signability. But, yeah, I do agree there's a good chance we keep him after this year. I just don't think it's likely.

Guys, I see Hardy arriving at an age even two years younger than when Charles Haley arrived...and to me, very similarly.

Then we agree, for the most part. If Gregory comes on strong enough, that could change things for the penny pinching Stephen though.

If the pass rush is as good as I think it will be by the last half of the season... I think Dallas will probably want to keep it together (I hope).

“I love his attitude, his mentality right now. He takes it serious when he’s out there on that field. When he’s locked in, he gets after it pretty good.

“That’s something we need. He has that demeanor you ask of a defensive lineman that likes to get after the quarterback.”

Music to my ears. I love that even his brand new team mates can see the intensity that he brings to off season workouts.

Imagine what he'll be like in camp. I've watched enough defenses to know the entire unit will pick up on it very quickly.

Absolutely best news we could get out of offseason workouts. Any Coleman on the defense better watch out.

"it's such a fine line between clever and stupid"

I personally find the reaction overblown, but YMMV

How many times has it been said that our defense lacks leadership? Good to see we've evidently got two now.
Between Sean Lee and Hardy, perhaps our defense has guys that are able to take the reins and steer them.

Another quote from another of Hardy's new team mates:

JJ Wilcox: “It’s crazy,” safety J.J. Wilcox said. “I’ve seen how hard he works and how much he loves the game, so that being said, it’s tough to see him suspended off the field. But he’s a great player. He works hard every day and he’s amazing man. I love him.”

That would be a detriment to this team...

I honestly don't think so. He doesn't support the run and he doesn't cover. There isn't a single part of his game that I think is helping the team in any significant way.

Another possibility would be if Gregory shows enough promise, Lawrence looks the same as last year, the team could sign Hardy to an extension.

I was listening to Philly Talk today...they think we're done because we lost DeMarco and Romo is 35. I love how all the experts are overlooking the impact our oline contributes to our success. Romo ain't gonna suddenly stop working.

I love the association of a safety feeling part of a highly aggressive and physical group.

you want guys like mcclain and hardy who inspire the other guys. We saw what mcclain's attitude did to help elevate a talent depleted defense last year. attitude matters.
