I'd love to get a speedy WR, but that's really a luxury, one that could even be filled in free agency or deeper in the draft.

We've been talking about how an edge rusher is the top priority for next year, and to an extent it probably still is, but replacing Carr is shooting up pretty quickly.

I've been astonished since the off season that he wasn't asked to take a pay cut, and he certainly isn't playing like it's a contract year for him.

He'll be cut for sure next year or he'll be asked to take a massive pay cut.

Unfortunately we're stuck with Claiborne next year, but something's got to give with this secondary. When Scandrick is your best corner, you're in trouble.

Ideally you'd want Scandrick to be your #2 or #3 and Moore to be your #4.

At this point its BPA between CB and DE, but we really need both in the first two rounds. Hopefully things fall to us.

Dallas isnt goig to take a CB in round 1. Claiborne will be given every oppurtunity to start next yr. i can see a CB in RD2 or 3. IDK if they even go DE in round 1. BUt its a better possibility then CB. You can bet if there is a QB worth the top pick this yr Jerry will be making that pick. He got the scare of his life vs Washington this yr.

I was saying DL all season but I'm second guessing because Carr is atrocious . I would say DL, CB , and WR .

2012 draft is coming back to bite us. That was our defensive draft and only Crawford is worth anything.

Just as fixing the OL makes everyone else better, same with DL. Corner doesn't need to have a superstar in this D if there's a pass rush.

I do want Carr gone though. His $12M can be applied better.

I agree to an extent.

Carr gets beat within the first 3 seconds. A very good pass rush usually takes 3-4 seconds to cause mayhem.

Carr is not built for cover 3 and we are a cover 3 team. People don't seem to appreciate that he was brought in for the scheme we used to run where he could press, direct and then use trail technique. Those moves inside and comebacks aren't as hard for him that way because they are coming back through him. Now he is to backpedal and stay on top of the receiver. He doesn't have the quickness for those breaks when he is over the top like that.

He is making entirely too much money for a guy who doesn't fit the scheme but if you want to get irritated look to Jerry Jones who was surely the driving force behind that acquisition and then switched schemes. I think the latter has more to do with Garrett and Stephen but that is besides the point.

For what this team is paying, it's painfully obvious Carr's talent level was seriously overrated by the FO. Maybe we'll see fit to either reduce his salary or send him packing in 2015. Hopefully, we'll manage to acquire a CB more suitable to our needs next year. Think I'd make it a point to draft a CB no later than the 3rd round or sooner.

#1 - Carr is massively overpaid. He is an average corner in the league.

#2 - ODB roasted everyone in the secondary. He was ridiculous.

Carr just doesn't seem to be as engaged as he was in seasons past. I mentioned in the game thread, it's like he's been playing in a haze or funk. To be fair, he did lose his mother, so i'm wondering if that has affected his joy for the game. Even through his ups and downs in the past seasons, he at least appeared to play with more passion and fire.

No cornerback was going to hold up last night with the non-existent pass rush that the Cowboys had for the first 28 minutes of the game. Yes, Carr has not lived up to the contract, and he's a poor fit for zone coverage, but the pass rush needs a major infusion of talent.

The Patriots pass rush isn't much better but they added 2 new players at corner which has truly helped their defensive woes.
