Carr has always been slow, but now his technique is sloppy. He grabs and holds too much, because he can't keep up.

Not sure about the theory..........
The Patriots pass rush isn't much better but they added 2 new players at corner which has truly helped their defensive woes.

That's fine.

To each their own.

Pressure always helps a secondary. This isn't a theory it's a fact. If you have no real pass rush, and a QB can sit back there all day, eventually someone comes open cause no matter how great a Corner is you can't cover for very long.

Just ask the Giants on a few plays Sunday night when Romo had 7 or 8 seconds to find someone.

He is so trash. I liked him when he first came, but it's time he goes.

We need to stop putting him on teams best Wr's.

That job is for oscan. If he is on Marshall or maclin, we are done.

I need to know what we're going to do for the remainder of the year. This guy is ruining our season.

Yes. I wish Patmon was ok. I wonder if they'd give him a chance to start. I don't really think they would but I'd like to see it. I also think Moore is better than Carr too.

He's very bad.

Haven't read any other posts yet....but...Scandrick had a worse game than Carr did Sunday night IMO.
Guess people think Carr should be Super CB...can't cover even an average WR all the time.

Carr can be a good CB, ship him to Seattle and watch him thrive opposite Sherman and having Thomas play over him. He'd look better than Maxwell IMO. He fits perfectly in man press schemes. Moore and Patmon fit better in Rods scheme, have smoother hips and play zone a little better because of it.

Searching for capable zone CB's are a bit easier than supposed prototypical man CB. Look at the Yucs with Banks or the Falvons with Alford and Trufant.

I don't expect him to be Super CB however he is being paid as a super CB and not living up to that. I have no issue keeping Carr but I can't see it at the current pay he is getting.

NE is 16th in sacks and only 4 teams are worse than Dallas. One of the new players they added was Revis. Just saying we're not adding a CB like that anytime soon so we have to improve the pass rush.

People exaggerate how bad Carr is playing because of his contract. If he was a low paid guy like Moore, people wouldn't complain as much.

I agree. However he is being paid a lot and with that pay is greater expectations. His play is not close to the contract he is getting so something has to change. Dallas can't be paying out large contracts and getting much less in return

I'm not buying that. People would still complain because he gets roasted each week. They just complain more because of his contract.

Granted PFF may not be the "end-all" when it comes to ranking corners, but Carr right now is 109th ranked corner out of the 112 on their board.

Yes, I'm certain something will change in the off-season. Guys like Flower and Cromartie in AZ signed 1-year deals for around 3M in the off-season. The Cowboys probably need to look for a mid-tier veteran in that range OR get Carr to take a pay cut and draft a CB early.

I agree. I never make these things personal with players. I would love nothing more than to see Carr get out there making the big plays, after all that is why he gets the big bucks to go out and make plays and thus far he is not making a lot of plays and yes getting burned.

Yeah, I don't think there's a chance of Carr seeing his current-contracted amount for next season.

He either accepts a pay cut or becomes a June 1st casualty.

I loved the signing and thought he was good the first year. He seems like a cool guy but he for sure hasnt earned his check. Hopefully he'll redo his contract because if not then we need to let him go.

Some say draft a DL. Some say draft a CB. Some say draft a safety. Blah, blah, blah. Need a pass rush. Need a better secondary. Take a look around the league. Every team needs something. We all knew going in to this season that we would go only as far as the offense could take us. Whatever the defense could give us would be gravy.

Last year our defense was the absolute worst. This year, we are respectable and showing some potential. I read somewhere that something like 16 of the 20 Cowboys DL who played last year are no longer in the league. 2 others (Ware and hatcher) signed with other teams. That is some serious makeover. And we are doing OK so far.

I just watched New Orleans' defense last night. Last year they were the 4th ranked defense and added a high-priced FA safety. They also recently added a first rd pick in safety Vaccarro. And I think they have some 1st rd picks at CB. Well, lo and behold, that defense is 27th ranked and putrid this year. Maybe even worse than the Cowboys' defense of last year. Go figure. From 4th to 27th. Saints' needs on defense? Where do you even start? And their offense now has serious warts and a highly paid QB who may be sliding down quickly. Throw in some cap problems to boot. Glad they have a real GM. ha ha.

I heard the Detroit Lions got absolutely no pressure on Brady at all. Top pick Suh and Ansah did squat. And another top pick Fairley is injured and did nothing before that. Nada, Zip, Zilch.

Jets added a top CB from Alabama last year and a top safety this year. Both 1st rd picks added to a top DL. Wow, what a defense that will be! Must be nice to have a real, bona-fide GM running the show.:muttley: Fast forward to now and the Jets are 2-9 and just got spanked by Kyle Orton, yes, that Kyle Orton.

In short, it is just so hard to predict needs in today's NFL with so many moving parts and variables (factor in arrests and injuries). I have no idea why Brandon carr is playing so poorly this year or why Patmon is playing so well until he got injured, that is. I have no idea why 31 other teams passed on LB Rolando McClain. I have no idea why LB Sean Lee tore an ACL with no contact. Same as Claiborne. That is why, I say just draft BPA - someone who can play. Regardless of position or perceived depth/strength.

My goodness that is worse than I thought. I mean, I knew it was bad. But that is so far past the unacceptable stage it's hard to see the Cowboys trying to justify bring him back next year. Jerry has to look at the investment he made with Mo and Carr and just shake his head.
