I hope that next year, when Barber is healthy and the scheme is better, he shuts all of you fools up saying he sucks.

Who said he sucks? He is grossly overpaid.

Who can blame him? He's a much better every down back than Barber. While Barber has talent, he aint worth the money JJ threw his way. Fact.

He is worth the money.

He was hurt last year yet still gave us over 1300 total yards.

We have him 100% for those last 4 games and he is easily top 5 in the league in that category.

Barber is better than many here give him credit for but Jacobs is a more dangerous runner. I don't see him lasting less years than normal for a NFL RB and I suspect he'll be around longer than Barber. I just hate him because he beats the crap out of our secondary too often. But I admire his strength and running style. He's fast, quick and has good feet and vision. Name a few that are better than he is. The list isn't long.

His mouth is as big as TOol so I'd give him a TOol contract.

Jacobs is a better back than Barber. Only a complete homer would argue otherwise. Choice ran better than Barber did even before he got hurt.

Barber's ridiculously overpaid, and Jacobs would be too if he got that much.

RB's are a dime a dozen. Look around the league. Many teams have 2 good ones, and some have 3. You can get a good one in every draft. A smart organization like the Giants will probably let Jacobs go into FA and see for himself that few teams not HQ'd in Dallas will pay that kind of $ to a RB.

Uh yeah, sure. LOL.
Don't get me wrong guy, Barber has heart, something woefully lacking with our team of prima donnas. However, he is not an every down back and hence, is not worth the money that the top every down backs make.
Besides, I'm not convinced that with Barber's size and running style, that he will be a long termer in this league.

It's a mute point anyway if we can't upgrade our crappy OL.

No running back is worth a big contract... Just ask Kansas City, Seattle and San Diego.. The position is way too physically demanding to overpay..

Do you have any freaking idea what you are talking about?

Before being hurt Barber was averaging 103 yards per game (run + receiving). Projecting that over the last 4 games, if healthy, he'd have ended up around 1650 - the #5 total yard guy in the league was Steve Slanton with 1659 yards.

Can't you do a tiny bit of research before shooting off a post?

Barber didnt have a great yr AB. He had an ok one. The fumbles also were a problem, he had way too many. The fact Choice came in the last month of the season and had as much, if not more success than Barber did while also facing 4 of the league's best defenses doesnt make Barber look great either.

The OL deserves some blame too though, they had a number of games where they played like crap.

Again, you can say he didn't have a great year -- but as I noted, those 12 healthy games produced what would have been a top 5 total yard performance over the 16 game season. His running #s suffered but he had by far his best receiving season and was very dangerous catching short passes.

Of course, as I noted last year, people shouldn't expect Barber to come in as a starter and perform at the same 4.8 YPC level that he did when he came in as the closer.

I think he'll be fine next yr...I agree it probably wasnt realistic for him to avg almost 5.0 yds a pop as the #1 back, but he should be around 4.3 or 4.4 I think, and hopefully next yr he will.

I agree on the receving thing, he did have a very good yr as a receiver. Could have been even better too had Romo checked down a little more instead of forcing the ball downfield on some plays that ended up as picks too...he was open alot

Those 12 games produced one of the worst YPC #s in the league. It shouldn't go unnoticed that Choice and Jones didn't have that problem.

From game 1, Barber wasn't the same guy he was last year.

3.7 ypc, while Jacobs was something like 5.0.

Read my post - total yards. Much more to the game than just running.

Yep. Barber excelled as a receiver, but was average as a lead runner.

That's what you'd expect from a backup. not a guy with a $45M contract.
