Brandon Marshall agrees to terms with Giants

Glad they wasted their money on a receiver instead of fixing one of the worst o lines in football. I don't care who they have, it won't matter when Eli has no time to throw.

Far too early in the offseason to grade anyone yet... Marshall is a talented WR for sure-- but he's also got a rep as a diva. Now you have two WR divas in a city that has an intense media glare. They may have gotten an upgrade in regards to talent-- but the chemistry in the locker room could have just become a whole lot more volatile as well.

Marshall is great for the Giants. Our best counter would be to build the trenches. DL and OL. Nothing helps DBs like a great DL. So I say resign Mo to an incentive-laden contract (3 yr) bring in DWare and Cordarelle (or Britt). Then add a DE, CB, S, OT in the first 4 rounds of the draft, and a couple of WR flyers late. We need to trust in our Scout evaluations and McClay. Fingers crossed.

I'd say we need to bring in a free agent safety, too, whether it's bringing back one of our own or getting an outside FA.

I'm not worried about our offense. If we get a receiver equivalent or better than Williams, we should be good there even though our offense did struggle against the Giants' defense.

What will determine if we can truly contend for a Super Bowl will be our defense. I'd like to see us keep at least two of our secondary free agents, sign Ware, trade for Sheldon Richardson (if the price is right), draft a DE in the first round and draft a corner in the second (or vice versa depending on who is available, although DE needs to be the priority).

I think this year will be harder to take than usual for many people. I think we lose more names that people know than we usually do.

It's year two for a rookie QB which teams now have lots of tape on. I think that's to be expected. We're up 1 year and down the next.
Maybe we will have the #1 draft pick next year and everyone will be overjoyed.

They need OL bad but that's a price for Marsh I'd have been all over too.

True. Not a bad price for Marshall. But at the same time, he's turning 33 in 2 weeks.

It's a signing a team at the end of an era makes.

And have to live through the season it would take to 'earn' it? You truly do have a dark side.

2015 was bad enough!

Brandon Marshall was 2nd in drops last year and had 770 yards receiving and 3 TDs.. he's 33 .. he's not a good fit for Eli.

And a GM saving his own skin makes. I think they know they're done when Eli is and they're gearing up to try and make one more run before that happens. And then comes the huge rebuild.

Damn I wanted him - I think he's a monster. Love that guy. For that price and time...but I imagine staying in NYC meant a lot to him.

You have to have a dark side to watch the Cowboys since 1995. I was a youngster but, watched the first season of the Cowboys in 1960.
Pew, they were really bad that year. Took a few years for Landry to whip them into shape. No really dynamic teams since the Jimmy years.
Just have to roll with the punches like lots of other NFL fans do with their teams sans NE.

This.
While we seem to be gearing up for a run at just making the playoffs every year but not competing in them. It's early but if we are depending on our same defense for next year, "forget about it".

Be patient...Stephen said we're focusing on re-loading in the draft. All's well until September.
