Next question.
zekecee;2908219 said:I'm not going to get into a long convo about this, but teams do it all the time. Unless the money is guarenteed, the teams hold all the cards, and they cut players right and left, regardless of the contract. I promise you, Jerry would have tossed this guy a couple of million for this year and that would have been the end of it.

nyc;2908226 said:Roy would have been gone a year or two ago if Jerry could have voided his contract. That wasn't the case. Roy was collecting a lot more money than he was worth.
Do you know what guaranteed money is? You don't seem to be grasping the concept here. That is what was applied to Roy Williams contract and why Jerry didn't cut him.M'Kevon;2908249 said:Yes they do. All the time. Ask Roy about the $4.4 million he was due in 2009.
Ask Jerry if he honored the remainder of his contract out of kindness.
The NFL is a business. Players hold out to re-do their deals. Teams cut players with non-guaranteed contracts if the numbers no longer make sense.
So you think Marshall should get a do-over because he thinks he is worth more than $500k a year? :bang2:M'Kevon;2908253 said:Different argument. You don't believe he was worth the deal that was signed. That has nothing to due with a team getting a "do-over" if they no longer like the deal.
There are lots of reason why Marshall doesn't want ot be there. Josh, money, his QB, etc.DaBoys4Life;2908252 said:I thought he wanted out because Cutler was no longer there nothing about the contract from what I thought.

DaBoys4Life;2908275 said:If that's the case why are you saying that money is the only reason he's acting like this and he's a POS because he isn't willing to play out his contract?

Doomsday;2908347 said:That is a load of BS, the you signed the contract is a load of crap perpetrated by owners to get fan support. The NFL is set up so if you dont perform you get cut from your contract, so if you do OUT perform you have the right to hold out or ask for a new contract. The guy is a top 5 WR in the league the last 2 years and is getting paid pennies.
I dont agree with how he handled the situation, but the Broncos should of made a decision to pay him or move on.
