Thanks WG...I think the question would probably be, who is listening?

Lol. I had higher expectation for him after seeing his relief performance against Commanders, but he left a lot to be desired , he was missing several open receivers underneath and fixated in giving the ball to outside WR.

The real question is which coach sighed off on weeden as the primary back up QB after watching him all off season?

Isn't he responsible for the ineptitude shown by Weeden?

Weeden got plenty of work in the preseason and leading up to the game on Sunday. He has no excuse, nor should anyone else be blamed, for the level of suckitude he displayed against Arizona.

I just knew he'd cling onto that garbage time TD, well done Weedon.

did you hear him in the post game comments? he said "it's not like I played 4 quarters of bad football"...lol. nothing more I hate than garbage time stats.

Well, they did manage to rob the Colts afterwards, so they're not completely messed up. Of course, they did draft Manziel and threw away all their good fortune, but hey.

The only thing as stupid as wasting that pick on Trent was the fact they got another 1st rounder for him. That I will never understand either. Like right now, I don't even think we'd get a 1st rounder for Murray. Well...I don't know. Maybe.

Again Weeden was bad.

But a certain amount of blame has to be cast to Jerry & Co.

Kitna 141 NFL starts
Orton 74 NFL starts
Weeden 21 NFL starts

Weeden doesn't have a lot of experience.

Could the team have done better when it came to a back up?

Maybe I remember it wrong but I seem to remember the Cowboys being in cap trouble and could essentially only afford Melton and the small contract Weeden got. Wasn't many guys out there with experience aside from McCown and Vick. It was guys like Weeden, McCoy and Sanchez.

It's these kind of questions that need answered at times like this and accountability should prevail. I often wonder what if anything is being done about it.

Brandon Weeden on struggles vs. Arizona: "A couple of timing issues. A couple of not very good throws... Just never really got in a rhythm
Weeden: The first throw I missed Dez on the sideline. That was on me. We never really got into a rhythm until late, and it was too late.."
Weeden: Peterson is probably NFL's best CB. Cromartie is a good player. But when you have 88, you gotta get him the ball as much as possible

Reporter- " What about the other receivers? Was that just a trust issue or maybe not enough practice time on such a short week?
Weeden- "What other receivers?"

His passing chart was ugly. Think Sturm posted it. Basically everything on the right side of the field.

Well, I'll give it to him. He did manage to keep a completely straight face the entire time.

I wonder if it's just that Weedon can't handle, not pressure exactly, but expectation. Coming in suddenly for an injured Romo, there was no expectation on him, and he did pretty well for the two drives he led to scores before Jerry ordered Romo back in. Then the next game with Romo out, suddenly there's the expectation square on Weedon, and he sucked it up big time for the entire game UNTIL it was out of reach and he directed a scoring drive FINALLY with a TD to Dez with very little time left in the game and no expectation to be able to pull off a win.

Just a theory.

I agree with you mostly:
4 and inches not on Weeden, that's on the O-line and RB
Allowing yourself to be pushed around and manhandles by a CB not on Weeden, that's on Dez and co.
Allowing a CB to manhandled our WRs all day not on Weeden, that's on the refs. Now I love the ole school way of playing D but I thought the whole purpose of the new penalty calls were to prevent this kind of hand checking past 5 yards.
Terrible game plan for the last two weeks, not on Weeden, that's on the coaching staff. We are 15-1 when Murray has over 20 carries. That's plain and simple.

In game adjustments bother me a lot. Once we saw the refs were allowing their CBs to play tight and rough on our receivers, we should have been doing the same on D. That would either shutdown their receivers or force the refs to start making calls.

McCown would have been a great pickup!

And I STILL want to know why that counts as a "miss" in FT Attempts for the kicker. Not Bailey's fault someone let the defender right through to block a certain FG

Shoulda kicked around him!

Two words for you, Weedy: Cole Beasley is your friend.
