Ultimately, on the other hand, when all is said and done, at the end of the day, for what it's worth, it is what it is.

The DC's fault :D:cool:

And by the way the guy that blew the coverage was our hero Jeff Heath.

Heath and the rookie Taco blew the play. You couldnt have picked a better play to illustrate my concern about both players.

Sometimes guys fall down.

My guess is it was on Heath. I would imagine that Heath would be responsible for the Y and it looked like some matchup zone with the MIKE responsible for the RB. It looked to me like Heath bit on the playfake as well.

One thing is certain, the other DBs were in Cover 3. That means the underneath coverage could have been man, in which case the drag probably would have been Heath's, or zone, in which case it depends on the call. In most zone instances in this type of coverage, Heath would have flats and the linebacker would have the zone where the drag route would have taken place. It's also possible the play design didn't account for the drag route. Not saying it's likely, but it is possible.

There are many variations of calls with Cover 3 looks, so unless you know the specific call, you have no way of knowing and are probably talking out your cornhole.

Boy that is a tough call without knowing the coverage.

To me it looked like it was the Linebackers man.

Good playcall by the offense.
I agree. To me it looks like the MLB was wrong. Heath appeared to have the flats, and was baiting the pass to the RB.

Zeke is not the only one that's had a stalker.

You now follow me around in every thread.

Well if he wants to come to your after party I would let him, you don't want a 6 week ban from the zone.

To me it looked like some type of edge blitz with cover 3 behind it.

This pic shows the responsibilities for the SS in Cover 3. Heath was the SS.

When our DB blitzed i'm going to guess that Heath was responsible for the Flat and The buzz.

The MLB bit on the play action (He thought it was a run) and just continued with it and it let the man go free.

If it was a cover 1 coverage from the get go I can't see a Safety like Heath who is a vet just not covering his guy.

Good photo to match the play.

By the way, this is a great topic for discussion.

It really shows different people's thought process and why people's opinion's about players vary so widely.

A cool concept for one of Cowboys video talk shows would be to post a play like this each at the beginning of week and have fans comment on it. Then at the end of the week, have a video of a coach explaining what really happened.

Dont flatter yourself. I find myself responding more to overzealous, unrealistic posts. You just seem to have a lot of those. The people I agree with, I just like and move on.

LOL. He slipped.

Like that's never happened to a player before.

Holy hell.

Ironic though that people downplayed Watt actually not falling on his butt and making an unblocked sack. And here Taco whiffs on it. Even unblocked, you still have to make the play. Like you said, anyone can slip and fall.

You're never gonna convince posters with a blatant agenda of anything

There is no agenda here buddy. To say so is just another excuse for you to turn a blind eye. You simply dont want to fathom that I may be right. So you make up some kind of excuse that I have an agenda. Silly.

What is more likely in this scenario?

-A devoted Cowboys fan has an agenda to hate a player?
-A devoted Cowboys fan has an agenda to wish everything is great and turn a blind eye?

The agenda is fans like you that are looking for anything to wave your pom poms. YOU have the agenda.

Reality, accuracy, proper analysis. That is the only agenda for me. I am devoted to the team success. Any coach or player that doesnt help the team or live up to high standards deserves to be critiqued for their shortfalls. Fans do it all the time, everywhere.

Heath was playing it like he had flat/curl and took the RB in the flat. So did the LB.. No way to know.

Cover 3 only describes the assignments of the deep coverage. The LB and SS can easily trade those assignments or do something else like man under. There is no way to know.
