The smart thing to do is go with a younger cheaper qb and build a stronger defense and OL. Have $ to sign the good players.

the 6 point thing was most likely sarcasm. Some dak critics go too far, he isnt that bad, but he isnt all that good either esp when playing good teams.
Rush was 4-1 and dak was 8-4 with the same team, but dak makes 20 times as much as rush, and that is the rub.
Go with a lesser and cheaper qb who can be efficient, the use the xtra $ to get other key players, and they might have a better chance of a run.

Daks next contract will be huge 55 mil range and he will be the same qb or worse, and I dont get how u guys think that is smart mgmt.

But it’s too late to talk about smart management because smart management should’ve came into play when we decided to give 100 million to a RB or give 100 millions to D Law or big money to Jaylon and Collins. Well qb's have to work with what they have.
Dak has had more than many other qb's as far as talent around him on offense.
The last 2 years he has had a real good defense to help him.

I imagine every qb would like to have a great team, and great coaches, but they rarely do.

Most coaches in the nfl just are not that good.

The last two years, we were one of the most penalized teams as well. That's hard for any quarterbacks to overcome.

I said the QB I would extend would also need to perform very well in the postseason games too (most of not all the games). Dak has had some real clunkers when facing great defenses.

With Martin anchoring the offensive line, the Cowboys ranked ninth in the NFL in rushing offense last season at 135.2 yards per game. Dallas will surely need to keep him happy if it hopes to duplicate that level of success during the 2023 campaign...that needs Martin first. To set his work more.

Five on him and he'll be in rhythm - focused.

I don’t think he’s going to make 50+ million a year unless he has a great 2023 season. From the knowledgeable football people I’ve listened to most seem to think the Cowboys can win a Super Bowl with Dak. Most who don’t think the team can win a Super Bowl with him are on this board. Lol The Cowboys have only won Super Bowls with two QBs in their entire history. Romo was good enough to win a Super Bowl had his teams been good enough, and so is Dak if he can return to his form from at least a couple of years ago and the team continues to improve. Too many are pinning it entirely on him for the Cowboys lack of postseason success, but he already has as many playoff wins as Romo in fewer years. Romo never had as good a playoff game as Dak had against Tampa and Romo never won a road playoff game. Dak is a lot better than fans on this board give him credit for. We’ll find out after this season whether the Cowboys plan on going forward with him the next few years.

Romo 15-19 (78.95 percent), 191 yards, 2 TDs, 143.6 QB rating vs. Green Bay in 2014 (and should have had at least one more big completion).

Dak Prescott 25-33 (75.76), 305 yards, 4 TDs, 143.3 QB rating vs. Tampa. He did add a rushing TD, though.

Got to consider that Romo also was sacked four times against Green Bay, while Tampa was only able to get to Dak once. Romo definitely played like a QB who deserved better during that playoff run. His QB rating against Detroit in the first game was 114.0.

I didn’t bring up the Bengals because 1) they were 0-2 and playing some bad football at the time. Rush beat one team with a winning record and that was the Giants who were 2-1. The defense played lights out and to give Rush credit for going 4-1 is insulting. Rush is a backup….Dak is a consensus top 10 pick…hating Dak is fine but the hatred is misplaced.

well yes it is a team game, but the defense did hold them to 19, less if dak doesnt throw the ints. So I think they played pretty good.

I didnt say that AC , just that the team won those games with rush and at a higher win %.
Had rush played the entire season we will never know if the team would have had a better record.
8-4 with dak isnt bad, but it isnt great either, and then consider that last game they lost to wash. What happened there?
