Bobby Carpenter. :)

No, a first round pick can't be a darkhorse. For a real darkhorse, I'll say one of the UH guys -- Battle or Hannah.

good one, he was looking pretty quick in mini-camps
Yeah, I've read several positive comments about his workouts and drills so sounds like he'll push TT for a roster spot.

Miles Austin

he didn't do much last year in TC, I expect him to come on strong in this years

ditto.

on D, I say Hatcher. I dunno if he counts b/c he's already turned some heads last year, but I think he's going to be very, very good for years to come.

I'm not sure who it will be - probably a linebacker, probably Bradie with the leaner physique.

I do know that, if the past two years are any indication, the camp stud won't be worth crap in the regular season, lol. Watkins, Burnett, Rector...get us all worked up and then disappear.

I was thinking more along the lines of the UDFAs but if veterans are eligible, I'd put a wager on Anthony Fasano. History's shown that TEs usually make a huge leap forward between their first and second years.

That's an interesting choice. Yeah, I could see it happening. The guy has talent, he's going to get his share of playing time in the preseason.

On offense I'll dig WAY down in the UDFA pile and say:

Jerard Rabb WR 6-2, 201 Boise St. - He's very athletic and bright... as well as way under the radar. More of a hunch than anything. Still, he faces a real uphill battle to even make this squad. The WR corps are stacked.

On Defense I'll go with 7th rounder:

Alan Ball DB 6-1, 175lbs. Illinois - He's a bit of a ballhawk and flew under the radar in college a bit as well... meaning he was underrated, even in the Big 10. Still, he played well and has been named his team's outstanding DB for at least one year at Illinois, maybe more. Always seems to have good stats like passes defended, INT's, etc., but never really gets the accolades. He may go overlooked some because of his skinny frame... but I think the guy can really play. He may move Nate Jones right on off the roster. While many like fellow 7th rounder and CB, C. Brown... I like Ball as a football player more. We'll see.

I like this guy too...he is big and just seemed very smooth. He could take Hurds spot.

I think the spotlight will be all about Spencer due to the defense clearly being the focus this year.

Om O I think it will be Sam Hurd and on Defense gotta gowith Pat Watkins.

But I'll be with anyone who comes out of this camp a star who wasn't going in.

Every year someone is the standout of camp, the dark horse that everyone's all excited about.

My bet - Bartel.
Casey Coleman, RB, Hampton.
