Breakout Cowboys 2006

Kalen "Dog" Thornton

If you guys think Ware only has one move, Thornton's is a little more obvious. Hopefully he bulked up a little and can a least bull rush along with his fly by the QB pass rush.

I'm rooting for Burnett also. Seems like we are haunted with our 2nd rounders. There were two other LBs drafted in that round that went to the Pro-Bowl. I would hate to see us waste another 2nd rd. pick.

I'd love to hear how a two TE set creates mismatches in the passing game. I think teams would be delighted about that.

Which teams are utilizing this innovative dual TE set to exploit defenses right now?

TE needs to be addressed, but doing so in the first round would be just plain silly IMO.

Accordingly to those same people, Burnett is going to start next year. Fujita kept Burnett on the bench this year. Hell even Fowler got more playing time than Burnett. Fujita did not get to attend the Cowboys training camp and yet he was the replacement for Al Singleton.

I think Burnett kept Burnett on the bench this year. He couldn't adapt to switching sides after spending the entire pre-season learning Fuji's side. Then after he started to understand Ware's side -- blammo, he's back on Fuji's side. It can be a bit much for a rookie to learn.

Probably 1/2 the NFL is putting 6-5 WR's and TE's up and in 4 WR sets. We have done it with Witten.

Draft BPA - and add WEAPONS to your offense. WR Class is weak

You have a point as I have yet to see the two-TE offense take the game over by storm.

There was a reason he was switched to Ware's side in the first place. He couldn't beat out Fujita for that spot. As far as him being moved twice, I agree bad move on Parcells part.

I don't think it was a bad move on Coach Parcells' part.

He was doing what he could to try to get him some playing time beyond special teams. Simple due diligence.

Putting one TE split out in a 4 wide set is a totally different thing than a two TE set.

Again, who is using a two TE set to create mismatch problems for defensive coordinators across the league?

Why add a weapon that isn't going to help the team all that much?

Justin Beriault now healed from all his ailments will win the starting FS spot in TC........and will go on to have a steller season.

I'm really counting on Pittiit to step it up this year, also I don't see them replacing him with a FA.

Your posts are funny. I mean, I'm all for the rah rah stuff, but you make a lot of hollow predictions.

By nature, all predictions are hollow. It's guesswork at it's finest. But, I, too, think Pettiti will turn the corner this year. It might be right out of a starting job, but it could be as a solid starter, too.

How's that for hollow.

How bout a wild prediction. Marion Barber has a break out season and takes over as starting rb.

I'm not so sure about Petitti, in fact if we have a chance to upgrade in the offseason at that position I think we go for it.

As for breaking out, I definitly think Crayton has a good chance to post some big numbers, especially since he has a veteran stud to get him the football.

I hope Canty, Spears and Ware make some noise as well on the defensive side of the ball.

One thing in his favor He's big enough.

Tarullo, Matthew G 6-5 314 R Syracuse

He also can play 3 spots on the OL, which is something Parcells really values.

His stock just went up 5pts.:)

Good call - look for him in at goalline at TE again.

Breakout Cowboys? Maybe Dwayne Goodrich.

I like Canty, Spears and Ware to be more comfortable and start exerting themselves. Canty is very talented. I also like Thornton to benefit from being the guy without the bullseye on his chest. While offenses worry about Canty, Spears and Ware, Thornton can come in and pressure the QB.
