Roy Williams is a failure??? How did you come to that conclusion? I want you to logically explain to me why you think that.

Lets see, hes been in the league for about 5 years and has one 1,000 yard season yet hes seen as a number 1 reciever. And for those who want to point to his quarterbacks. Calvin Johnson had a better season last year than Roy had in his entire career with Daunte Culpepper throwing him the ball and god knows the other qbs the Lions had playing when Daunte was sticking it up. But keep the excuses and caveats coming for the failure. Either you are a big time reciever or you aren't. His numbers dont matchup to other big time recievers whether they have good qbs or not. Does that have anything to do with Terrell Owens? Bring up my username all you want to but Roy Williams hasn't done anything to say that what im saying about him is false which is why The Triplets talk about him the way they do. I saw him play last year. I saw the Falcons put there second corner on him one on one and him get handled. The replays were damn near comical that he could get challenged by a nobody. If you are a big time corner being played by a first time starter one on one and you are actually getting targeted you should kill him. Yet the announcers were saying what anybody with a brain watching the game were saying. WHY THE HELL IS ROY WILLIAMS NOT KILLING THIS DUDE?

But hey keep thinking everything is going to be roses next season with #11 because Mike Martz and his pass happy offense had him looking good for a year. I know better

I wish I could remember who posted Roy Williams stats showing games played to date and compared it to Owens for the same number of games.

Totally trumps the nonsense above.

Stats? What have your eyes told you since 2004 Roys rookie year in comparison to Owens? SMH

I could attempt to explain it, but it would go right over your head.

There are a lot of players including Romo that need to step up big late in the season for this team to advance but it is not about 1 person there were ample mistakes being made by plenty of players both offense and defense. Teams still win championships not 1 or 2 players.

In the 1980's I thought the San Diego Chargers were the most impressive Offensive machine in the NFL. They were too. Air Coryell was devastating. Yet they never won it all. Their Defense and running game weren't there. It always amplified to me how important team was over individual talents.

That is why Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl. Miami did not do enough around him. It's why until Elway had a decent Defense and a RB he couldn't win one.

The idea that Romo needs to stpe up and everyone else needs to keep on doing what they have been is nonsense at best. You can win with a QB not playing great. Look at the Steelers Super Bowl run 3 years ago. Roethlisberger did not set the world on fire. They won because the rest of the team stepped up and simply outplayed some great opponents.

No one who is a Cowboys fan since the early 90's should have this opinion of Romo that is prevalent right now. How these fans can look at those teams and not see "stepping it up" on both sides of the ball is beyond me.

The entire team has not done enough to win, not just Tony Romo.

Then dont compare that clown to Owens again. Thanks
I'll do whatever I wish within the rules. You're welcome.

Prediction: Williams will have a better week 1 and a better 2009. On top of this the Cowboys will have a better record and go further.

That is why I consider football the ultimate team sport success or failure is determined by the play of many all working in unison.

Tsk tsk tsk. You should know what happens by now when you challenge the original I LOVE ME SOME ME.

Its me, Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt and a few others on one side and Hostile and the rest of the cowboyszone boys on the other. I think i know how Roy Williams story will end. I see the Bills being led to the playoffs like TO led all of his other teams as long as Trent isn't as bad as Drew Bledsoe or Brad Johnson. Dallas will make the playoffs too, but it will be because of the defense. God please dont put a playoff game in the hands of Tony Romo!

So then you believe in what Troy said

As for Dallas' decision to drop Owens, Aikman was all for it.

"I know others have said they don't believe you can get better by subtraction, but I do," he said. "It's hard to win in this league. It's hard to get the ball to everybody every week. When there's pressure on an organization to make a player happy, that is not how you win football games. ... When you start trying to make decisions to feed one player or two players, that becomes a problem."

Aikman pointed out that Michael Irvin always wanted the ball, just like Owens, but Irvin never let his role in the offense become a week-in, week-out subject for reporters. Subtracting that drama is what Aikman believes will help the Cowboys.

"There's frustrations within every locker room, but that's where it should stay," Aikman said. "I've always believed if you win, it's good enough. My career was based on that. So I don't really have a lot of great things to say about anybody who comes out and vocalizes their displeasure because they're not getting more passes or more throws or more carries. To me, that's not what this game is about."

Aikman believes that a successful team needs talented players and locker-room chemistry. He thinks the Cowboys have had the talent for the last few years, but the chemistry part "is what has been lacking" as their skid of years without a playoff win has stretched to 12.

"It hasn't looked like a team that enjoys playing together," Aikman said. "Will that change with a few changes within the roster? Time will tell. But I don't know that we should necessarily point at Tony and say, 'OK, now he's going to have to do something extraordinary.' That whole team is going to have to play better than they have late in the seasons."

That very well may have been the right decision. But getting Roy Williams to be his replacement is down right awful. You cant tell me Arizona would'nt have gave up Anquan Boldin at that price this offseason. I dont believe that.

I did, three.
Sometimes you read an article and think 'damn, I'm surprised nobody had thought to get him on the record on that.' Breer's really good at his job.

As far as I know Boldin is still a member of the Cards so I don't know what they will get. As for RW he will get this off season work with Romo and with Garrett and we will see how it all plays out. If he fails then that is on him but I do believe in the importance of chemistry and timing between a WR and QB which is something RW and Romo were not able to do during the short time they were together.

Challenge you? I challenge you to say something intelligent for a change.

Aikman is behind Owens? Could have fooled me.

Irvin just said that team chemistry was suffering and he understood.

Emmitt merely surmised that it may have been a risky move. Hell we've all known that.

Did you by any chance see the thread with the poll of former cowboys players who were asked if it was a wise move to release him? Prepare yourself, it might make you tear up a little.

And you can't tell me Boldin would be a better #1 WR than Williams since Boldin is a #2 behind Fitz.
