His suspension was modified to allow him to practice 2 weeks earlier..

ARLINGTON, Texas -- When the Dallas Cowboys return to work on Monday, suspended defensive tackle Josh Brent will be eligible to join his teammates, according to multiple sources.

Brent and the NFL agreed to a modified suspension on Friday in which he will still miss the first 10 games of the season, but he will be allowed to work out and take part in meetings with the Cowboys two weeks earlier than the original conditions of the suspension as well as other concessions.

You know what? This actually would not surprise me....

Guaranteed. They wouldn't reduce the suspension and let him back on the field earlier but they now have assured he is fully ready to go that first week back. That was the compromise Jerry accepted to bring Sam in even though they wanted no part of him in the draft or once he was available.

I actually the Sam thing was in exchange for no punishment for AP tampering.

I don't think so because it came out a few weeks later that Jerry did indeed have a staff member immediately call the Vikings and report the incident. That's why there was no issue with that.

This is huge. With him, Crawford, Melton and McClain, that's a pretty hefty middle of the Dline at the last part of the year.

He is going to use a portion of his salary to help support Jerry Brown's daughter. Why do you want to make a little girl's life rougher than it already is?

Called it. This is Jerry's reward for signing Sam.
That may not be a popular opinion but it's certainly easy to argue that could be the case. We'll never know but I'd like to be a fly on the wall to hear that conversation and what Goodell had to say.

I would have a problem with Brent coming back if it weren't for Jerome Brown's mother forgiving Brent. If his mother can Brent then I don't feel as though I have the right to hold a grudge against him

To be honest, I don't remember how effective Brent was on the field. Could he really help us?

For that reason I want him to play...shine....help get us to the Superbowl....Get a Big check...retire and write a book and all us fans sit back and gloat...

Reservation of judgement? Just curious how many people a Dallas Cowboys player has to kill to scratch him off the list.

Yeah reservation of judgment. The people that he actually is accountable to ie Tarrant County, Brown's family, the Jones, Garrett, and his teammates all support him. The believe in the power of redemption specifically if you talk to them. They all talk of it.

At this point the question of whether or not he should be allowed to return to the team is besides the point. He is coming back.

a mistake, no, killing someone is not a mistake. writing the wrong word, thats a mistake. and its funny how some are thinking killed by murder or someone willfully getting behind the wheel while intoxicated is a bit better than murder. However you die , death is death. It might not be your life and you might not care, but he took someones even when he had a slew of other options at his disposal. This is more showing how some will compensate love of sports over life. ITs sad that the NBA got riled up over words, but the NFL has no problem with the taking of a life.

The NFL suspended him 10 games on top of the 20 he had already missed. The only thing more they could do is ban him for life.

It's either they ban him or don't care? Binary logic is a bad sign. I'll pass on your approach myself.

thats fine, jsut proves lives mean less and less, trust me, had it been your loved one, we know waht you would be screaming. its easier when its not affecting you. but its affecting someone, a life over words. Just sad what we have delved to..
