I feel sorry for Aaron Rodgers. On one hand, if Favre retires, Rodgers faces the pressure of succeeding one of the greatest QB's in the game and a legend in the city of Green Bay. On the other hand, if Favre plays another year, Rodgers has to plunk his butt down on the sidelines for another frustrating season.

It is no different than what Danny White had to deal with.

Wait, Roger Staubach had true class and didn't string the franchise along every offseason.

If it was Emmitt or Troy in this spot you'd be crying every time an announcer didn't praise them.

Favre is a great player. The hate is uncalled for. Good fans can respect great players.

I can't agree with you on this abersonc. I liked Emmitt, but I hated it when Irvin and Emmitt starting taking their helmets off after every score to get face time on TV.

And you misunderstand me. I respect Favre's play, even though I honestly think he is overrated. If I had a dollar for every TD pass he threw under 5 yards I would be rich.

I appreciated Aikman's selfless approach to playing the game. It is one reason he isn't more highly thought of today. He didn't complain for his stat padding. He just played to win. Nor did he play it up for the media. Which is why people were so shocked when he became an announcer that he was different in the booth than he had been as an interview.

I'm not "hating" on Favre. I'm saying, if you are going to play, then play. If you are going to retire then retire. IF YOU AREN'T SURE, THEN STOP WITH THE TRIBUTES! You can have your tribute when you actually quit!

And I think THAT would be class. As it is going he will be given more send off tributes than there are Rocky movies.

Haven't seen butt kissing like this since Sinatra had the Rat Pack around him. Favre is a caricture of himself.

Favre balling like a baby

Reporter: "So, what emotions are you feeling now?"

:lmao2:

And Favre's response. I can't remember exactly but something like, "Well, I would think it shows." Or something along those lines. i.e., "can't you see my tears?"

I hope he does come back personally.

I don't get wrapped up in the superficial stuff about should he stay or should he go. The guy can play and he's a joy to watch. I will always admire the way he approached the game. When he's gone it will be a loss for the entire NFL in my opinion.

I hope he comes back as well. To me he is one of the top players (not just top QBs) to play the game. He has been good for the game and he is one of the few players for an opposing team that I actually like to watch.

Someone asked about him accepting retirement "gifts" every year. Exactly what gifts has he accepted? The media is fueling the Farve lovefest and I think deservedly so. The guy has played for 16 seasons and has started every game of every season for the last 14 seasons. Can you imagine not having to worry about your QB position for that long? Not only that, but having one of the best at the postion each and every year.

I certainly think he can still play if he wants to and I hope he does come back again.

Nothing would be cooler than for Newman to intercept him at Texas Stadium next season (breaking Blanda's all-time INT record) run it back to the house and then have Roy Williams carry him off the field like Favour does to Driver.

BTW, how do you get Farve out of Favre?

If all you have to complain about is what I have to complain about, your life must be equally good. :)

QB Aaron Rodgers seems to know the value of Favre tears after the game.

This is a quote from a story by ESPN on last night's game:

Talking about Favre's tears Rodgers said:

"I wouldn't read too much into that" While Favre might have been overcome with emotion immediately after the game, he was back to his jovial self by the time he got back to the locker room, Rodgers said.

"He's an emotional guy, but there wasn't really any tears or anything in the locker room."

Packers fullback William Henderson, Favre's teammate since 1995, professed surprise Monday when he was told the QB became emotional after the game. "Did he? Well when I saw Brett he was yapping it up with the boys."

Turn off the cameras, and Brett loses that retirement feeling.

This guy's act is shameless. How many farewell tributes will you allow? All it takes is for the guy to be honest about his intentions. He is coming back next year, and he knows it. And if you want to say he really doesn't know, then if you aren't a media monger you don't do all your little interview inserts that run all game long. We went through all this last year. Will we have to next year too? How many times can a guy get retirement coverage before he actually retires?

And John Madden has to be the biggest fan of a single NFL player in NFL history. Man does he love Brett Favre.
If your not a Geen Bay fan what difference does it make?
