I'm so sick of Favre! He texted some people supposedly, and his retirement bullcrap is all over ESPN. He hasn't announced anything (not that that makes a difference anyway)

I hope the Vikings tank this year.

Yea Farve is a class act he sat back and watched the whole thing play out and probably loved every second of it.

There had to be thousands of people trying to contact him yesterday and he just waited and waited and waited then like always gave Marriuci a bone.

Fave is not a dumb man, he plays off the pub. I have no doubt that he knew once his wife renewed her membership to a Minnesota gym the public would get wind of it and the stories of him returning would ensue. But it didn't last long so he needed this counter story run to steal the spotlight again.

From what I've heard and read, Favre has told nobody that he is actually retiring. I guess he could even sit out for a while (or even a season--doubtful) and still play again without actually retiring.

He took a huge beating in that New Orleans game and the injuries on top of all that he already has as far as aches and pains has made him consider not playing. But he did have a monster season last year, so it would be tough to leave while still playing at that level. He was rtight there at the top along with Brees and Rodgers in stats and QB rating--and ahead of Manning.

It would be odd if he showed up after the bye week, b/c then the longest consecutive game streak woud be toast. I always though he liked that record a lot b/c it showed dedication and durabilty. Supposedly Peyton Manning could possibly break it if he played another 7-8 seasons without missing a game. Doubtful though.

This is the way I see it too.

If he takes a dime over the $13 million that he was scheduled to play for, it's clear what this was, the shakedown of an NFL franchise by a guy who thinks he's above the league.

And the true crime will be when folks in the media don't call him out on it by trying to take the 'high road'.
