With thanks to Glorydaysrback's post last night... I got to thinking.

17 > 4.

The date of the last Cowboys ROAD playoff victory? January 17th, 1993. The date of Sunday's Divisional playoff game? January 17th, 2010.

EXACTLY 17 yrs. ago as he pointed out.

Jason Garrett's number as backup QB in 1994 on Thanksgiving when he defeated Favre's Packers? #17. Favre's Packers were eliminated in the Divisional Round of the playoffs that season, 35-9 and were again eliminated with Garrett signalling plays and holding a clipboard in Dallas' last Super Bowl season in 1995 in the NFC Championship game.

Tony Romo's boyhood hero? Brett Favre. His jersey number in HS (I think?) and at EIU? #17. The QB who was unexpectedly released securing the undrafted Romo's roster spot in 2005? Quincy Carter # 17.

Favre is 0-3 lifetime in the postseason vs Dallas beginning in 1993, 17 years ago as well. His #4 will come on Sunday. The margin of victory will be 17 pts.

Someone predicted- Cowboys 34, Vikes 17.

Folks, I'm not into numerology at all but this result might be a LOCK.

And #4- Brett Favre's #4 loss vs the Cowboys in the playoffs will be his LAST game played in the NFL.

Believe.

Well for the last few weeks I have kept the volume on my tv at either 8, 9, 12, 17, 22, or 28.

I thought it has been stated with quotes from Romo that he was not a Favre fan growing up......

34-17 seems too common..

I am diggin the 17 theme, so I am stickin with it, just in a different manner.

Witten called him out on that. He was a Favre fan, but sheepishly said Elway one time to avoid embarrassment and media talk before the Packers game in 07.

I thought I read the other day that Romo wore #16, in honor of Joe Montana, in High school?

Other than that I agree with absolutely everything else in the OP.

+1

the only thing we need to be is 1 point more than the Vikings

NFC title game here we come.

If he lost in the playoffs 35-9... add 3+5+9=17

This will be the 17th game of the season for the Vikings ...

:fact:

I'm pretty sure this means that Sam Hurd is going to catch a 17 yard touchdown pass to put us up by 17 points.

Our very own zoner, CowboyJoe, has a birthday on the 17th, the very same 17th day of the month we will be playing the Vikings.

Hmmm...the plot thickens.

The exact opposite. Romo = Favre fan
