To add, he appears to have a calming influence.
 
If he gets us into the playoffs and we win 2 games, I'd be willing to entertain this all. Until then he's a nepo baby from the nepo loving front office.

And maybe he's legitimately elite.. I think you'd have to be to overcome this FO, but everything with the Cowboys is now prove it for me.

They lost me having blind faith or homerism like 15 years ago. The anointing oil is firmly under lock and key.

Got news for ya, all NFL teams have nepotism. Not just here. All teams are about relationships. That's why coaching trees matter.

Yeah management in sports is conservative in nature. I think like all managers in baseball can trace their lineage to 2 managers or something.

Better to go with safe and known than unknown when we're dealing with billions of dollars of product.

I do think the Cowboys FO, however, is above and beyond any of that. Jerry as GM and his family as everything else, Garrett, Eberflus, even Jimmy, his college roommate (yes that one was amazing).

Point is no one out nepos Jerry.

Great Coaches win Super bowls! Schottenheimer is above average because that's what his record shows. The delusional Cowboys fans always set themselves up for an emotional letdown. :rolleyes::facepalm:

He's been handed a top 5 offense and given mutliple players he didn't coach on defense. Stop the hero worship for people who just have a uniform on...geez...

Has he been perfect? No, but every coach makes a few errors. However, by and large, he's made a lot more great coaching decisions than mistakes. He's good with clock management so far. In a league where you can regularly call out mind numbingly stupid clock management decisions, Brian Schottenheimer (a rookie HC) hasn't made those. Sure, he's gotten a bit overly aggressive times, but a lot of coaches are aggressive now.

Furthermore, not only has he beaten both Super Bowl Teams in the span of 4 days. Not only has he also beaten the Commanders and was a dropped ball away from sweeping Philly. He's outright OUTCOACHED Andy Reid, Sirianni, and Quinn. Remember when we would be upset because we were regularly outcoached under Jason Garrett? I think it'd safe to say we are not being outcoached. He's putting the team in great positions to win (excluding maybe the Cardinals game, which he has really improved from). He's trusting his QB. He's calling mostly great plays. He's managing his time-outs brilliantly.

It's nice to finally be able to say that we have an elite Head Coach in 2025. Who'd have thought that we might actually have the best HC in the division at the start of the season? Even if we don't make the playoffs this year, I currently have full confidence in Schottenheimer in 2026.
