As Garrett used to say, "The team, the team, the team...". If you root for Dak to get $60 million and then whine about no free agent signings...or limited money to go to the defense...you have to believe Dak can make up that difference for the team. Sometimes you can't be for both. Why is it not OK as a fan to root for the team, and the individuals on the team (or in the organization)?
Why would there not be fans of the QB leading the team that said fans love, even if the love is somewhat inflated and delusional?
Hec, the fact that we're still rooting for a team that hasn't even come close to being in a Super Bowl in almost 30 years (let alone winning one) indicates that we're ALL delusional. Yes, that means you too!

Slow down...all this is happening in Dallas, lets see how they play on the road which they are terrible, good teams win at home, great teams win on the road..I said a few weeks ago that I wished we could have had Schottenheimer sooner. I'll double down here. So far, Brian Schottenheimer is an elite Head Coach.
Has he been perfect? No, but every coach makes a few errors. However, by and large, he's made a lot more great coaching decisions than mistakes. He's good with clock management so far. In a league where you can regularly call out mind numbingly stupid clock management decisions, Brian Schottenheimer (a rookie HC) hasn't made those. Sure, he's gotten a bit overly aggressive times, but a lot of coaches are aggressive now.
Furthermore, not only has he beaten both Super Bowl Teams in the span of 4 days. Not only has he also beaten the Commanders and was a dropped ball away from sweeping Philly. He's outright OUTCOACHED Andy Reid, Sirianni, and Quinn. Remember when we would be upset because we were regularly outcoached under Jason Garrett? I think it'd safe to say we are not being outcoached. He's putting the team in great positions to win (excluding maybe the Cardinals game, which he has really improved from). He's trusting his QB. He's calling mostly great plays. He's managing his time-outs brilliantly.
It's nice to finally be able to say that we have an elite Head Coach in 2025. Who'd have thought that we might actually have the best HC in the division at the start of the season? Even if we don't make the playoffs this year, I currently have full confidence in Schottenheimer in 2026.
It's not about rooting for their contracts, it's about rooting for the players on the team you profess to love.As Garrett used to say, "The team, the team, the team...". I'm rooting for the team in aggregate...much like I root for my country, but I'm not REQUIRED or SHAMED for not liking one person...or several. It's not about rooting for their contracts, it's about rooting for the players on the team you profess to love.
If you don't like the owner/GM NOR the players, then what the hec are you rooting for??? The Star? Oh, how Jerry loves your unfettered devotion.![]()
We're too busy playing ping pong.Calling all shotty bashers! Where ya at??????
What is the hole in my logic?I'm rooting for the team in aggregate...much like I root for my country, but I'm not REQUIRED or SHAMED for not liking one person...or several.
It really is interesting watching you guys fein indignation and befuddlement...when in fact...lol...bruh...it can only be your "unfettered devotion" that is blinding you to several obvious holes in your logic.

No, it doesn't mean I'm rooting for the jersey. You routinely put words in other folks mouths...when you struggle to express yourself without some logical fallacy. Again, I think you have plenty of mental computing power, it's the just the Dak virus infects everything...makes you confuse the QB with the team and a jersey. Have you ever been apart of something bigger than yourself? A corporation? A church? A ...family? A....TEAM?What is the hole in my logic?
And by rooting for the team "in aggregate", but not liking the owner, or many of the players, well...this means you're simply rooting for the jersey. The Star. And Jerrah loves that.
And if the team does win, maybe even a Superbowl in our lifetime, it will be interesting to watch many of you fans only partly enjoy it, because you'd have to give the players and the owner/GM you abhor some or a lot of credit. That's going to be a bittersweet celebration indeed.
Yes, here's what understood, OG. You're rooting for something bigger than yourself, the Dallas Cowboys Team....not so much a single player. Got it.No, it doesn't mean I'm rooting for the jersey. What's understood don't need to explained.

But it's Dak the MVP? Right?3-0 since adding talent to the defense.
Schottenheimers offense has been great all season.
Oh you clever girl!Yes, here's what understood, OG. You're rooting for something bigger than yourself, the Dallas Cowboys Team....not so much a single player. Got it.
So, are you rooting for Jerry, since he's part of said team?
...thought that doesn't matter, because Jerry is simply glad that you equate the Cowboys (or could be said, HIS Cowboys) to a church or family. Oh how that makes him happy.

This fanbase should be studied.I said a few weeks ago that I wished we could have had Schottenheimer sooner. I'll double down here. So far, Brian Schottenheimer is an elite Head Coach.
