another friend of MM ( Mike Nolan ) who’s already in the building . No interviews from the outside the STAR ? This is typical lazy thinking when there are so many good candidates from around league .

Mark Brunnel , Brian Griese and Mike Kafka to name three .

This is a DQ hire believe it or not

BS was penciled in to be DQs OC if he took a Hc job

Kafka is looking at head coaching jobs, so he isn’t much of an option.

Greise and Brunell would be awesome hires.

Local sports talk radio hosts think he will be the new OC. Broaddus was one of them.

He was a Coaching Analyst for the Cowboys in 2022.

Apparently he scouted opponent offenses for Dan Quinn.

Age 49.

OC in the NFL for 12 years.

He started coaching in 97 with the Rams.

Several stints as a QB coach.

Schott's Dad brought McCarthy into the league. Someone posted he came from the Walsh tree but he truly came for the Marty Schottenheimer coaching tree.

Considering he was in that mess with Jacksonville last year 2021, and Marty could never get to a Super Bowl, I am not excited about the rumor.

I don’t think Kellen Moore is a big problem. I also don’t think Schottenheimer is better.

All that being said. If this is done so that McCarthy can be playcaller and more hands on with the offense. Then I am ok with it.

I’m treating this like I did with Garret in his last five years or so, just get him out of the building, don’t care who he is replaced with. This archaic scheme needs changed along with any remaining Garrett stench.

It might be the wrong move in the long run, who knows but the new OC will be fired sooner than later. He won’t be an apple in Jerry’s eye for his next project.

It also eliminates another future HC mistake in the making……..just get Kellen out of Dallas asap!

If this is a McCarthy move and the offense ends regressing next year then McCarthy may end up getting the axe. Jerry won't be happy about dumping one of his golden boys (Moore) only to see it not pay dividends. Don't get me wrong, I think a move is needed at OC. However, McCarthy needs to choose his OC wisely. He may not get the benefit of correcting an error at OC like he did when he hired Nolan as the DC and eventually replaced him with Quinn.

I have a feeling Sean Payton will continue his TV gig in 2023. Any stumble by McCarthy in 2023 and Payton will there lurking behind the scenes.

I don't know that I'd want a guy that's in the organization.

Apparently teams aren't rushing to give up that 1st round pick.

who said mccarthy isn't interviewing outside people?
hell...kellen hasn't even been fired.
this is stuff comin' from local radio guys...nothing official.
besides...every coach in the league hires people on their staff they had some connection to.
they all do that.

Pete Carroll reportedly fired Scottenheimer for a lack of run game committment to the run.
Guy was way too pass happy for Carroll's liking.

And pass-pass-pass frenzy only led to more problems with Russell getting sacked and taking on that many more hits and punishment.
Just doesn't sound like an upgrade over kellen...

The Jets were horrible . Can’t this team think out of it’s comfort zone what’s the rush . Bring in some candidates from outside the STAR to at least sound out what coaches from outside the bubble think of the personnel and schemes .
