The risk is minimal. They assume, they'll be cleaning house if they fail to make the playoffs.

It's largely a pointless move that doesn't make us better.

I mean if you wanted a low risk move that could actually make us better, then they should have flipped a 5th rounder for Gordon.

Personally I'd take him over Terrance Williams right now and I imagine that's exactly who he's replacing.

We had too many receivers already. Just release Williams and sign a special teamer or something.

Let me see if I have this straight.

Butler is the very definition of a JAG. The Cowboys decided to move on in the offseason, and didn't exactly break the bank in bringing in replacements who are, let's be honest, JAGs with different names.

Allegedly, they changed aspects of the offense and the passing game that should render Butler's familiarity with the scheme lesser than it may have been otherwise. Now, they decide to bring him back? For what purpose?
