In Oakland he looked like a guy who enchants you with his physical attributes but can't seem to put it all together to finish a play. Looked similar yesterday.

Tempted to dip Vince Mayle in stickum from head to toe and sign him to active roster. Mayle's bigger and faster than Street, and he couldn't have any more trouble holding on to passes.

He hadnt even had one full week of practice.

A post is a post . . . Unless it is a 40 yd slant. But what I am getting at is all they had to do was tell him the route and he should be able to run it.

And alot of people on this board are really short-sighted. Devin Street offers no deep threat on the outside. Without a deep threat that safeties have to pay attention to, this team is going to have lots of trouble running the ball. Which puts Weeden in lots of third and longs. Recipe for disaster.

There is a reason Butler was active this week with only 3 days of practice under his belt. The coaching staff knows we need his deep play ability. And Devin Street offers none of that. Give the kid a chance to practice a full week before judging him on lining up in the wrong place or running an imperfect route after 3 days of practice.

Starting and using him on a limited basis are two different things.
He should NOT be starting.

If Butler and DMC both start. We will have two ex Raiders starting at skill positions for us, who were backups on the Raiders team....

Butler was the intended target on two plays that I recall and seemed to botch them both, including the one where Romo broke his clavicle, so... no.

Butler was out to the left but the intended target was Beasley. Unfortunately the cornerback jumped the route.

Actually that's false... Romo was looking for Witten but the safety read it well which caused Romo to have to double clutch the football.

It was Beasley's route that Jenkins jumped. It looked like Romo was looking to throw to Beasley running a slant. When Jenkins jumped the route, Romo pulled the ball back and that's when the poop hit the fan.

Hey great idea! In fact, since stickum is not in the rules to have on your hands why not just dip him in stickup except his hands.

That way they could circumvent the rules because he didn't have stickum on his hands and doesn't use it to catch the ball.

Its not in the rulebook that says he can't use stickum anywhere else but his hands. I can see it now. Weeden hits him in the butt and it sticks while he still run towards the endzone. Its not in the rules so I say why not.

It looked to me like it was a designed combo route/pick play for Witten. Romo looked to be in position to throw to the sidelines, not a slant to the middle of the field. If Beasley was the intended target he didn't know his assignment because he looked like he was going to block Jenkins. Jenkins jumping behind the line would actually have been a benefit if he was supposed to run a slant. Whatever the play was designed to be, it was a mess. Butler was blocking 8 yards down field before the ball could have been thrown, Beasley looked confused and tentative and Witten and Beasley's timing were way off. Beasley should have fired off the line to give Witten the space to go underneath him if that was the play design. Awful execution all around.
