A good gamble, especially if we have a low fifth and the Raiders have a high sixth.

Really, we might move down one draft slot.

OK, looked it up and they tack on compensatory to the end of the round. So if we had the 32nd pick in round 5 it would have been the 168th slot, and the first pick in round 6 would have been the 177th. So next year we could conceivably be giving up maybe 9 spots to get this kid. I like it.

Seeing as how we'll be in the SB and Raiders will be in the toilet, this really means that we'll probably only drop four or five spots overall on the pick.

Yikes. It's just a round (5th for a 6th) but I consider 5th rounders way more valuable than 6th rounders. I think the talent usually falls off in most drafts after the 5th, just my opinion.

Hopefully, Butler proves worth it though.

When the Cowboys use that pick on a player rated as an UDFA by the draft pundits, you'll feel a little better taking that guy in the 6th round than the 5th.

Looking at his highlight reel, I certainly expected more separation from defenders with 4.37 speed. But, even if he just runs deep and makes the CB pass off his man to the S, that could drive two players deep, away from our running game. AJ Jenkins was free, but I certainly hope that the front office made a clever trade here instead of getting AJ. Beating the Eagles would be a tremendous advantage next week, I dare to think it, yes.

We need immediate help. Like Sunday against the Eagles help.

No matter who they signed that player would be limited in the playbook and work with Romo. Dallas will go with T. Williams, Coal Beasley, Street and Whitehead for this game. Anything Butler can bring will be icing on the cake.

Any news as to who gets cut to make room for Butler? I'm thinking they put Dez on injured reserve-designated for return; which (I think) sidelines him for six weeks minimum???

Fairly certain IR is 8 weeks. So they decided not to.

So it's a definite good thing because someone down the depth chart might flash.

And this is clearly better in our moment of immediate need than making a run at Reggie Wayne.

I'm just pointing out the complete nonsense most fans talk on their team.

Thats why you're salty because the Cowboys didn't signed Wayne like you wanted haha

Wayne? You mean the guy who couldn't beat out the bottom of NE's thin WR depth and asked to be released before he got cut? Your insight has no end.

Is that was this is about? Wayne looked done last year and sat out almost the entire offseason and you want to bring him in? To me, we aren't going to replace Dez with anyone out there. Laurent Robinson was the exception, Roy Williams is the rule and it's a waste of time to bring in Reggie Wayne when he likely isn't in football shape and does not know the playbook. In the short term, our best hope is for several guys to pitch in at the things Dez does best. Escobar is a legit redzone threat, but will get the opportunity to justify his second round selection. Williams is a legit deep threat and RAC threat but will need to step up as well and if he does, then Beasley and Witten will still have space to operate underneath. Butler is more of an insurance policy if Dez can not go 6 or so weeks later (literally because we can release him prior to that and owe Oakland nothing). If he flashes, then he can possibly an additional deep threat, if not he's gone.

I know you like to paint yourself as some antihero crusader on here, but you are talking complete crap to pat yourself on the back. My first post was about how I don't know if either player will pan out, so saying it's a definite good thing is you just making things up.

I'm sorry your parents didn't hug you enough growing up, but I'm not going to fight over an argument where you have taken both sides and I'm just optimistic. One day I hope you find the inner peace that robs you of your internet rage. May the road rise to meet you.
