Then we keep going. Trade them both to seperate teams for draft picks. Maybe 4's. I can give you some guys I can get in the 4th round that could be studs.
WR Todd Watkins 6'3 195/ 4.28 40... However you can get good picks with these guys do it. But you don't know what a team will do until you call...

BTW, we took on Rivera/Ferguson and gave them millions ( I guess we were not that smart)

The way they played...especially Rivera...we weren't.

For what they are getting paid, they've done nothing. Sometimes I re-watch the games and pay strict attention to 1 guy the whole game.

And Rivera has been getting pushed back alot, and have little push on running plays. Ferguson disappears at long long stretches of the game, and also gets pushed back occasionally.

IMHO-it's the coaching. It seems like most of the D players "think" too much.

I agree too, but usually he lets the VETs free-lance a bit more. But you are right.

I'm more concerned with our inability to run block, pass block, and score points than I am the way we played in the 3-4 our first year.

The real problem is on the other side of the ball.

Having said that, yes, I prefer the 4-3.

The mistake BP made was not starting the 3-4 from day 1. He wussed out and let Zim run his scheme, and since it seemed to be working okay, he stayed with it the next year.

By the time he realized he *** up and didn't draft his type of scheme players, he finally got around to doing it this past off-season (so we're frustrated since it's year 3, had he started the process from day one, by now we would be competing for the Superbowl) IMO

BINGO! Bill should have scrapped Zimmer and the defense when he got here and brought in players and a DC to fit the 3-4 starting from day-1. Waiting until his 3rd season of a 4-year deal was foolish and screws us if he decides to leave.

It takes a few years to complete an entire scheme change successfully.....the nucleus for a great 3-4 is in place (minus the def. coordinator)......just relax.

Ellis may not fit the system but the guy still found a way to get 8 sacks in limited action this year? Too small or not, we're going to miss his pass rush.

In order for this 3-4 to work the team needs much better play out of its LBs. I'd like to see 2 new starters out there next year.

Put spears at tackle, canty at end, keep ellis, and Ferguson. I like Ware as an LB.
