Broaddus talks about Sams ability to play left or right defensive end. And he actually played both spots this preseason and had success on both sides.

The best thing IMO about Sam is the guy uses his hands to keep tackles off him. Which is suprising because he really doesnt have long arms. He uses great leverage too to passed blockers. and reads the QB when on a block and has the ability to get off the block and pursue.

Granted he was doing this against 2nd stringers but it just seems like he does things that none of the DEs on this team have grasped, the ability to get off blocks. I can see him taking somebodies job at some point of this season.

Some people on this board that continue to minimize the signing will get the shock of their lives when he is brought up to the active 53 one week soon. Watch it happen.

We had garbage DEs along with an overpaid salary milker before Sam was signed. Now we have an actual DE on the roster.

I seriously doubt that will happen.

I predict that within the first four games he will get called up. The film review by Broaddus does a good job of showing the positives in his game. Outside of Selvie and Lawrence, we don't have anyone else with that athleticism. He may not have elite speed, size or strength...but he has a pretty good combination of them and technique.

Good point. I think if it came down to it, I'd rather have a guy that was good at all 3 instead of someone who is elite in one, and average in the others, for instance. Which seems to be the case with most players.

I'm impressed with the Bryan Broadus analysis. He did a good job of breaking down each play. He gets some criticism but maybe he knows his stuff after all.

I think its possible that broadus isnt as bad as most here think. I never noticed a problem with him when i wasnt yet part of the mob here. It really makes me reconsider my stances on some other media types around other teams i follow.

he does, but alot of people are right about him. He never admits when hes wrong. And he takes offense when questioned.

First Anthony Spencer says hi. Then he says Selvie?

You'd think he was a first round draft pick after watching this video.

What is he even watching? Sam has really long arms for how tall he is. His arms are 33 3/8 compared to the 4 inches taller Clowneys 34 1/2.

Most in his business don't. Just like weathermen. It would be counterproductive

Right now I would place him on the 53 man roster and release Spencer. Cowboys should make a statement and releasing Spencer and putting Sam in his place would be a good move IMO.

That would literally accomplish nothing. First off they could've let Spencer walk after the 2013 season since he was franchise tagged and they had no commitment in 2014. They then signed him to a one year, incentive based, low risk, team friendly deal.

What in the world would they gain by releasing him now, after seeing his rehab through and being only a couple weeks away from him playing on Sundays?

In what backwards world does that make any sense at all?

And the Sam signing has NOTHING to do with Spencer's situation.

Right now he's simply a PS guy. The only way he gets called up to the 53 is if he proves he's better than one of the guys already there. Or if someone else gets injured. And that's the way it should be.
