Broaddus: "Hearing the club is working the phones right now in an attempt to move a couple of guys"

Harris is an outstanding punt return man. He was sensational last year and sparked a number of our comebacks. He is the number four wr who plays outside and inside. He makes peanuts.

He is going nowhere.

no way we should be looking to trade harris

Do you have a plan in case Romo gets hurt and misses a start?

Yes, sir, I do. If Romo goes down, god forbid, we are done. No need to extend the misery with a retread like Orton. He cannot win in this league. He was replaced by Tim Tebow for goodness sake!!

What value, if any, does Rosario possess? The dude was on the scrap heap when Dallas signed him. They won't trade Rosario IMO...

It's possible you could find a trade partner for him. He's gonna be depth for someone this year. If a good team wants him, say the Patriots, it might be worth their while to offer a conditional 7th for him because if they don't there's a real strong possibility that a lower tier team will pluck him off the waiver wire before the Patriots get an opportunity to. All this depends on the Cowboys deciding Andre Smith is a better option as the 4th TE of course.

Not all injuries are season ending. You need someone who can tread water for a few games to get your starter healthy. Orton is very capable of doing that.

I'm sure Miami fans were saying the same thing last season, when we coughed up a last-minute 7th for Ryan Cook.

You never know where teams might be looking to add depth. I can see us trading any of a handful of bottom roster guys for other players or late picks.

A team like Denver could be interested in Costa.

It works for us too if we're keeping Kowalski and Bernadeu

You'd have to find a terrible GM to get a pick for a player like Cook.

Maybe Dallas can call themselves to make that kind of deal.

That's ridiculous and short sighted. What if Romo goes down in week 16 during a win or go home game and we're behind by 14?

As far as bottom of the roster guys go Rosario is a pretty good cut (if that's what happens). No one will mistake him for an All-Pro but he did start 2 games last year for the Chargers as a compliment to Gates. The Cowboys are deep at TE. Couple that with the fact that there are several playoff caliber teams that have an obvious need at that position, the Patriots and Ravens immediately come to mind, and Rosario could hold a small amount of value. The top tier teams have very little hope of getting anyone worth a widow's mite off the waiver wire.

That Cook deal was a good trade for us last season. Some of you guys have a warped notion of what picks are worth, and of how players actually play. To get a player capable of starting at Center for you the week before the first game of the season, after you've lost three in a row in camp, was quite a feat. And a 7th rounder for him was very reasonable value, even if he'd been outright cut this year.

so, the original list of 53 was put out there by the mother ship and then we brought in the LB form KC (jones)..so who left as a result?

Ryan Cook is a stiff. He was part of probably the worst OL performance in team history. You can get that kind of production off the scrap heap any time. We wasted a draft pick.

And if you believe any draft pick isn't worth much, you're a lost cause.

Nate Livings was moved to IR, freeing up a spot for Jones.

Once again, you're missing the mark by a wide margin because you overvalue everybody else's OL depth.

We *had * to get an OC last season. We were crippled on offense as it was playing our fourth choice there. Getting a healthy guy with starting reps who could pass protect was really, really important.
