Did you think that last week?

Dak has 32 TDs. 10 INTs. 4200 yards. 100 plus QBR. 69 pct completion rate.

That was about as easy a game you will ever see....for a QB. Washington had no pass rush....so he was able to settle into a zone. Problem is Dak gets rattled so easily. When that first read is cut off and he has to improvise....you just don't know what you are going to get. He makes bad decisions....isn't accurate. Will force throws..and is hesitant to run.

Another problem is I think Dak is consciously trying not to make a mistake, and we all know that's how you make mistakes. He let his instincts take over against WFT and we saw what happened. Today he looked hesitant again.

The good news is Dak can watch film and see what he did wrong. The bad news is we won't know if he can correct it in time to make a playoff run.

I think you make an excellent point and I think both things you mentioned are true.

Yes, Dak is consciously trying to not make a mistake and yes - he is watching the film and sees what he's doing wrong and yes - he looked hesitant again today because he still won't make the throws he needs to make because he doesn't want to make a mistake.

In other words...he knows exactly what he's doing and he's decided to roll with it because right now, without the threat of him running like he used to he's trapped into this style of play.

What really hurts him in the end though is if you are going to play it safe you have to be accurate with those throws and he simply isn't.

I'm listening now on the radio, Broaddus is questioning Dak's ability to "process" quickly enough against disguised looks. Said he's playing slow because of these new looks defenses are giving him. Says he's only letting it rip when there's a "free play" on an offside. Otherwise, he's playing slow.

This is the dirty secret of our offense for the last 2 months. Dak's brain is letting him (and the team) down. He is playing slow because he's processing slow. Read Amari's quote below, "play fast". Read between the lines...he's talking about Dak.

Why no one questioning Kellen Moore? Since the Denver game, and even more noticeable tonight, his offense is looking really Garretish/Linehanish. Vic Fangio created a blueprint that other teams have used to defend our offense. Why has Kellen adjusted? Our best offensive player is CeeDee Lamb, why can't Kellen scheme him open? Cooper? CeeDee had 4 targets tonight. Is the only way he can get CeeDee the ball is with WR Screens? This ain't all on Dak. The luster is wearing off of the offensive coordinator. Honestly, I hope he takes a HC position. McCarthy won a SB calling the offense. He needs to intervene.

Prescott is lucky he didn't have more turnovers with all the batted balls. I was wondering if Too Tall Jones had returned for the Cards.

Problem is he can't drop any deeper with those OT's. He'll get flushed by the pass rush.

That game was a team loss, not a QB loss. And that includes the OC and his play calling. I am not sure he knows how to help a QB that is struggling. I also don't think his receivers know how to help him either, AZ was missing their starting CB's and the WR's can't get open any better than that?

why is so much of the offense obviously designed for him to immediately throw the ball for some 3 yard out?

Because teams are forcing him to check down or throw into the teeth of the defense into heavy coverage.

They’re daring us to run but Zeke sucks and they refuse to use Pollard. Zeke’s blocking or whatever they believe he does better is not worth taking potential big plays off the field.

I don't know about his IQ, but I do know this much. Dak is not worth anywhere near the contract Jerry gave him. I think by 2024 which is the last year of this contract he needs to show up for the full season or maybe Jerry should let him sign with another team for that kind of money. And make no mistake, when Dak's current deal is up he will be asking for even more money.

now???

he is the same qb now as he was in 2016 lol

excipt now he also cant or wont run so that is fun
He wasn't asked to do that much in 16. They ran the ball whenever they wanted to and all Dak had to do was make 4-5 throws a game to win.

I don't think the play calls or play designs allow Dak to simply "let it rip". Simplistic routes often leave the deep route double-covered, so then he has to take the check down or the 6 or 7 yard route. Some of this is on Moore.

And hec, almost every pass play, even on 3rd down, should be a play action pass...since the Cowboys do have decent threats in the backfield. But the tackles have to hold up without holding, which isn't often the case.

#1 offense in the league got there with, "simplistic routes." They need to run playaction on, "almost every pass play."

Fans are funny.

Yes denver had a blueprint and dak has failed to adjust to it. Especially when defenses are showing that blitz look, when they come he's fine. When they back out of it is when he gets confused. It is why I for the life of me don't understand why he doesn't use his legs more. Keep the defense honest.

When he used his legs today we moved the ball. Other than the one fumble (where nobody was open, and a great play by the defender)

Also when were getting 1 yard on first down runs it gives dak it puts a lot of pressure on him on 2nd-3rd downs to make plays

Great post. I totally agree with you on every point you made here. Dak has weapons and both him and KM need to adjust, otherwise I am sorry to say that this team will go nowhere as long as good teams keep using this blueprint against us.

That’s why he’s not accurate.. He is accurate on his first or second read, but when he needs to anticipate, he is awful and all over the place. What obfuscates perception statistically is, he takes the check-down way too much, not being able to go through his reads at a proper pace. So his completion percentage doesn’t suffer and he looks better on paper than he actually is…

Because they don't trust the o-line to block for more than about 3 seconds, unless it's a play action pass. Especially if this team gets blitzed.

And Schultz's blocking is putrid, my goodness. That's a real liability on running plays. But Moore is still calling run plays where Schultz has to make a key block at the LOS. That's just stupid. Have the run play design having Schultz blocking a safety or outside LB, hopefully downfield in the 2nd level. Counting on him at the point of attack is just silly.
