We sucked last year, besides Dak’s awful pocket presence, was also because Frederick wasn’t playing, Martin was out two games, Smith missed three games and Connor was a rookie who played 10 games.

Our OL this year was pretty much stable the entire year.

I'm struggling with this one a bit. I understand the need to be comfortable with the O-line coach and I'm absolutely in step with the line of thought that the O-line was a shell of it's former self this past season.

I think Colombo needed to go for that reason but Marc was an *** kicker and Philbin seems to be more of a technician (from coaching standpoints). The last "technician" we brought in here (Alexander) completely screwed this group up. As bad as this line underachieved with Colombo, they were WAY worse under Alexander.

The problem with Alexander was the wrong technique.

Very common for an offensive minded coach to bring in his own OL coach. Most important position coach on any team. Imo
Yep.

And we have had good ones over the years.

Hudson Houck

Callahan

Myers

So given the background of this group we should be fine.

This changing of coaches is supposed to happen, When Garrett possibly gets his next HC job, he can bring all these 8-8 coaches with him. Out with the old and in with the new

The OL wasn't blocking well for most of the season. Most of the damn coaches should be fired. 8-8 with that talent? BS

this is not true.

have you looked at Zeke stats?

try to make educated posts.

Colombo was another country club hire learning on the job. This is a huge upgrade

he played RT in the NFL and was an OL asst coach.

then OL coach since 2018.

also, the OL is elite.

more #ColomboHate

new HC is just hiring his buddies.

I don't think it speaks to him at all.

A coach has to feel his OL coach is on the same page, so I get it.

I was not hell bent on keeping Colombo and if McCarthy feels this was best, so be it.

I expected Campen to be the guy.

It’s a bad move.

OL was our strength.

don’t fix what’s not broken.

plus Colombo is an excellent coach. Very respected for his work ethic and results.

Lol... I said "Columbo" like he's the cross-eyed homicide detective.

"Oh yeah. Just one more question..."

I loved his 1950’s Peugeot Convertible. It was dilapidated , just like him

for all the praises this OL gets, I didn't think they played well last year. maybe a new voice and some new schemes might get them more motivated.

yeah. Zeke might get 1500 yds instead of 1400.

really?
